thaiflyer1
If you have any problems obtaining the Non Imm visa you will have to go for a single entry tourist visa (60 day stay) and extend it by 30 days at local immigration in Thailand..............it/ll cost slightly more this way however.....(approx extra 900 baht)
astral
Go for the Tourist visa plus the extension. That will cover your requirements Chris. I don't think the rules have changed here at all!!

ChrisP
Ummm, How/Where do I apply for the 60-Day Tourist Visa...? I looked at the Los Angeles Thai Consulate Web Site... very little info there on the 60-day Tourist Visa. They seem to indicate that you can go to "Visa-on-Arrival" area in BKK Airport...?? lopburi3
Ummm, How/Where do I apply for the 60-Day Tourist Visa...?ChrisP <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Should not be any problem getting from Royal Thai Consulate in LA. Remember that after you are here in Thailand 50 days or so you will need to obtain an extension with a visit to an immigration office with photo(s) and 1,900 baht if you plan to stay 10 weeks. Or just plan a trip out and return for a 30 day stay stamp if it fits your plans.
ChrisP
How early should I apply to the Thai Consulate for the Visa...? can I apply now..? I travel July 12. ChrisP
bkkmadness
Not that I expect it matters too much for you, but it's 1800 to extend the visa. In the UK it is a one day apply, next day get visa, so I assume the same, why don't you give them a call?

I'd leave it a bit longer to be safe.

kenkannif
It depends on what they want you to do Chris. The London Embassy for example makes you apply in person, you put it in and then a day or so later (usually a couple of days later) you pick it up. The Consulate often let you apply by post and often process the Visa IME quicker than an Embassy (with less fuss). Personally I'd stick with Houston, check to make sure there're no holidays cropping up near when you wish to depart. And apply around 2 weeks before you're due to leave (by mail). They generally take 24 hours to issue the Visa and I find most people have it there and back in a matter of days (obviously depending on what system of post/mail you us!). kenkannif
Yeah I left the UK four and a bit years ago and not kept up with them. If you know where I can download them you'll have a friend for life (just found some on soul seek!)? Still got the first few years worth saved though (worth a fair bit now!). Sorry to be off topic! travlling
I am looking at moving to Thailand. I'd like to be able to not have to do the visa runs all the time. I am under the age of 50, not marrying to stay there either. Can I get a non-immigrant visa multiple entry, or can I get a 90 day visa? What would I use as a reason for the visa and not have to get letters from an employer/school/etc..... i don't mind doing a run every 90 days but how do i go about doing it? travlling
Yes, right now...I am in the military for 2 yrs, 4 months more before i do anything. I am taking 30 days in september though to visit LOS. I am looking for info on how to live there with the fewest possible visa runs, since I am only 40 now. Any ideas? I saw on the Thai consulate Denver, Co website that to apply for a non-imm visa, I need a reason and letters from whomever veryfying that. How can I do this reasonably? That is valid for a year and enables 90 day stays on each entry.
