Kurt Cobain died 15 years ago to the day.

No doubt his music was part of most of our lives at some point and so lets remember the bloke by suggesting our favourite tunes by Nirvana. Here's mine for starters:

R.I.P. Kurt

15 years, blimey. I'm getting old

That's one thing we all could say - we all are! :o

ps it certainly is good music.

I can't say I have a favourite song, however my favourite album would have to be the Unplugged on MTV album followed by hormoning and in 3rd pace Incesticide.

It is a true shame that his life came to an end in the way it did. His daughter is lovely and his music was revolutionary.

I am sad to say I even liked some of Hole's music (insert Shock emoticon)

Like this?

Not strictly a Nirvana song, I realise, but I love both the original and this. Can't find the live version from MTV Unplugged - bloody YouTube - this is a rehearsal...

Unplugged album

I can listen to it all day everyday

2 of my fav people...so much talent, such tragic deaths

Kurt Cobain

Heath Ledger

sighhhhhhh

Very good.

But how did you do it?

I remember the day he died. I felt like that was where most of myself and friends were going to end up some day. Drugs and suicide.

One of my faves.....

I was driving to work one day in Jakarta not long after he died and on a bridge over a canal somebody had written in English 'Kurt Cobain Lives'...my western associate and I exchanged puzzled looks. He bought a Nirvana tape soon after and we agreed that the music was worth listening to and that his death was indeed tragic.

John Lennon, Buddy Holly.

Compare.

Please tell me why his death was tragic, he took his own life, some other far better and more influential musicians have not been given the choice, those deaths were tragic.

Spoken as the older incarnation of a young junkie :o

So, does anyone give any credence to the conspiracy theories that he was murdered?

Thaddy

of course the loss of anyone, talented or not, is a tragic

but what makes the Kurt Cobain one such in my eyes at least is that for someone so young, so talented, with so much going for him, he failed to see all of that and let drugs get in the way.

people talk about the artistic type being more emotional, and that their problems (perceived or otherwise) affect them much more. I think this is <deleted>. there are people who suffer and face problems all the time. yet they value their lives.

the tragic part for me is that he failed to see all of his talents and failed to see the good things he had and is capable of and took his own life.

Too wasted, too caught up in destructive myths and behaviour. He wasn't the first and he won't be the last. The public still can't get enough of rocknroll suicides.

He left behind some very good tunes and helped open up my eyes to the Pixies, I thank him for that. :o

Thanks Meadish, the Pixies have been one of my all time favourite bands, plus the Femmes, weezer, Pj Harvey, Smashing Pumkins, Tripping Daisies, and Triple JJJ Radio in Aust. ran an Unearthed series in Aust. that brought a whole bunch of great bands to light. I wish I had some of that music now days.

Reminds me of Mick Hutchence (late of INXS). Similarly tragic background - although I thought that Hutchence was far more talented than Cobain. All a matter of personal opinion, I suppose.

talented they both certainly were Ping

although I cant say who is more so

but theres something about Kurt Cobain's voice.......it just mesmerises me

I know I know...not exactly the adjective you'd use to describe his music is it.....

I guess too many nights in St Dominics Church Hall, Cardinal Newman Church Hall, Greyfriars Club, have left me somewhat unenlightened, so I will leave you with this great unrequited talent

Good Luck

Moss

This guy is one of my favourites and he's still alive.

I reckon he'd have played the Heath Ledger Joker role in The Dark Knight rather well.
