Waddya Think?

Featured Replies

Do you know a Thai who speaks or writes like this?

I am just assuming she is a Thai, she doesn't actually state so, however I am a little guarded in helping, because it looks like a wind up to me, what do you think?

I dont see why she isnt genuine to be honest. We cant really assume that her written Thai should be non-slang. For all we know she has a helper writing it for her also. (In fact the first post looks like it may have been written on notepad or something, then copy/pasted).

Edit: I think its also best to give the benefit of the doubt. For if someone really does need your help, its not so hard to type a few helpful words/give advice. Even if they turn out to be a troll, then it could help someone in a similar situation. I once made the mistake of assuming someone was a troll (in the Ladies forum a lady saying she was a dyke and looking for big biker style boots and other advice. After a run of trolls in the ladies forum where i was caught out every time, i thought i had that one sussed right away. WRONG! Was genuine! :o) Anyway, its up to you.

It looks to me like it is someone trying to write badly.

Certificate, daughter and friends, all spelt correctly, yet embarrassed isn't, unless that is a U.S spelling? So there is a possibility of spell check, cut and paste.

But i and be'cuz, wanna and cuz, the use of the apostrophe in he's, but not in isn't, just reads all wrong to me, and before the grammar Police get hold of me, I know I am particularly bad at spelling and grammar, but in this example I am not knocking the literacy, just the genuineness of the post.

However you are quite right eek, there is no reason not to help, later when I get more time, I will put something together.

Personally I tend to treat all OP's asking for help as genuine, unless they are blatantly trolling, and post a reply. If it subsequaently turns out to be a falsie then mai bpen rai. It's not a big issue for me if I waste a few minutes of my time but, wherever possible, I like to offer some positive words of advice.

As to the veracity of the post when viewed in the light of the language and grammar used, as already said, she may have some ghostwriting help.

Seems genuine to me but I do tend to give the benefit of the doubt and would agree with PhilHarries' outlook on this.

Are there really people out there bored enough, sad enough and low enough to troll on such a topic?

Yes. Sad, but true. There are people out there bored and sad enough to troll on such a topic. But, I agree, give the benefit of the doubt in this case, since it is a serious topic. If true, then this woman does need help. If a troll then its his own sad patheticness that he will have to live with but you can say you did the right thing.

Am I the only cynic around here??? :o

It's the inconsistency of the writing as Moss pointed out. It reads like someone trying to write badly.

I once got caught hook line and sinker in health some time ago, which included a guy's gf slowly dieing of liver failure and TB, because I know the dangers of TB, I got immersed in the thread, until the story became wholly outrageous, so yes, there is no off limits for the Trolling Game.

Moss

I see nothing wrong with the writing and the scenario is unfortunately quite believable. Best of luck to the woman in sorting it out.

I'm sure you're not. :o The only one that is! The inconsistencies seem believable enough to me and the content stacks up. Maybe I'm just an innocent. :D

That's horrible! What on earth motivates people to be so sick?

I'm with you until proven otherwise.
