Yeah not a good result for you at all last night, you might want to re name this post "were back in the championship". One win for Birmingham is all it takes now the play offs will be interesting though with some form teams.

Sorry for your loss lads,

The way things stand now ...it will be United v Reading in the play-offs , but things could change tonight

We play Derby away tonight, Norwich away on Monday then Brum last game who if they beat Preston at home at the weekend will already be promoted when we play them.

You Blades fans can't be more dissappointed than us Royals fans with the way the season is ending, luckily for Reading both Preston and Swansea have hard games coming up, but I don't give us much chance in the play-offs, no matter who we play , even if our form does improve (it can't get much worse), its not the mentality to take into the play-offs, but now I am thinking that even if by some miricle Reading did go up we would be coming back down with the current squad and a stingy Chairman, however if Preston DID win at Brum (look what they did to Cardiff at the weekend) and we beat them in the last game , you win both your games then you'll be up...but I can't see Brum bottling it now, I really can't.

Good luck to us all, only 12 days and we will know whats what

If Birmingham fail to win against Preston and then go into the last game needing a result, I can`t see Reading then risking their best players if they are in a play off spot so they have a very good chance to get some points there also.

It really pains me to say this but..."what good players" would we rest....?

Coppell makes about 6 changes after every game we fail to win....which means we have used an awful lot of players recently :D

But we will be playing Brum hoping for a better play-off birth...so we won't "not" at least be trying to win a football match. and we have already done Brum this season away,.....not that it really counts for anything..we did the double over Wolves :o

Fat lot of good that did :D

Anyway, good luck against Preston, if you win thats our Play off spot more or less confirmed, unless United mess up against Swansea

First post on the forum and it has to be about the Blades...

If United need a win on the last game what sort of team do you think Warnock will put out for Palace?

If we make the play off final have convinced the Mrs that I am flying back for the game....

Wasn`t Warnock sacked by his beloved team? Do you really think there will be favours? Its going to take Bham to loose and you to win at the weekend before it comes to that anyway.

Uncle Neil resigned actually and NO!, there will be no favours seeing as Neils ex right hand man , who fell out of favour with him a long time ago (I,ve read Neils book), is now managing the team,,funny old game. What reason would he have other than being a life long Blades fan :D ?

I,m impressed with the claim of going all the way to the UK to watch a play off,,taking that you are in Asia,,fair play mate.

Thats a true fan!!!

Equally impressive is that there is actually another Blade fan on the forum.

I,m happy that Charlton drew with Cardiff last night. In fact I was really suprised. They like draws Charlton dont they?

Pauly,,I join you in this nail biter of an end to the season,,good luck to us all is required,,edge of the seat stuff.

I am lost for words regarding Readings loss of form,I really tipped The Royals to move above Brimm,,I thought that the return of Kitson would have helped . At least it did last night and it looks as if we may meet in the play offs.

If we,re really lucky it could be televised also :D

Reading meet Brimm and Sheff meet Uncle Neil. I will eat my hat if Utd get an auto Promotion now,,

Doing a double over Wolves is something shout about.

I,ll not go into which teams have done the double over the Blades this year :o

Looks like another exciting finish to the Championship again this season! Brum are basically in the same position as we were last season with the destiny firmly in their own hands however unlike us they ain't exactly in form and have 2 tough tough games to finsh on. PNE are still in with a sniff of the play-offs and ain't going to roll over for no one (there 6-0 humiliation of Cardiff was rather amusing!) then they have Reading.

The 2nd auto place is still wide open in my opinion for either Sheff U or Reading!

Will be keeping a close eye on the results this weekend. I've said it before and I'll say it again what ever happen for godsake don't let the bloody sheep botherers win the play offs! They were annoying enough when we were in the Championship let alone getting into the Prem! :o

Love United - I remember having the players of early 70's around the pub we lived in. Len Badger is my godfather and still catch up with the ex players when I go back....Tony Currie, Ted Hemsley, and the like.

Yep will fly out on the Friday, watch the game and then fly back.....hopefully a very happy Blade......

Still have faint hopes for automatic....

Sheff Utd 1 up just before half time......Come on Utd.

Kevin Blackwell has been sent off Neil Warnock style.

Unfortunate that the Birmm game is a late kick off ,,,I do hope they lose(sorry).

Posted

Done your bit now.......now you just have to wait

Good to see Cardiff getting battered again

Condifence wont be high going into the P.O's...GOOD

Cheers Pauly! Great to see that Birmingham have done theirs also :D

I have had the pleasure of watching the game live on TV,,and what a game.

Oh Preston :o thanks so much.Hope we dont have to meet in a play off.

The goal that Wallace scored to seal Brums fate was sublime.Sad to see him getting sent off at the same time.Three red cards in the game so you get the picture it wasn,t jumpers for goal posts. The look on the Birmingham supporters faces. We,ve all been there.

Well Pauly,,,,the balls in Readings court,,not to mention that the Blades meet up with Neil Warnocks Crystal Palace.

Good grief,,I,ve got no finger nails left as it is,,what an end to the season.

Holy Moley......can't believe what happened to Birmingham, just after the announcer asked the fans to stay off the pitch during their promotion celebrations. Unbelieveable, its why we love football, heatbreaking if you are a Blues fan though, I would have been devastated

So here we go, Reading MUST win tomorrow to stay in the hunt, then the simple scenario is.

Reading beat Brum ...United beat Palace...UNITED PROMOTED

Reading neat Brum, United draw at Palace...READING PROMOTED

Brum beat Reading...United result irealavant....BRUM PROMOTED.

Now on the back of that, Norwich will be playing like it's a cup final tomorrow, a win will be hard to come by for us, our players had already accepted a play -off spot, but they WILL try to win obviously.

Then the play-offs...I HOPE Burnley can get a result at home to QPR.......otherwise they could be last year's Hull City, who made the P/O's on the final day and won them.

Cardiiff 6-0

Brum 2-1

in their last 2 games, I don't think any of us would like to see them again?

Whatever happens now, some of us are goona be very happy and others...dissapointed

Good luck to us all...heaven help us

Well done Reading last night!

This weekend is a real winner takes all for either Brum, Reading or Sheff Utd! There is gonna be heartbreak somewhere!

I fancy Reading to beat Brum who seem to have completely lost it and if they do this mean Sheff Utd have got to win due to Reading far superior GD so a draw will not do!

I really don't see Colin wanke_r doing Sheff Utd any favours - I can imagine it high on his list to put the skids under you!

Either way it's gonna be a VERY interesting final day . . . and I can honestly say after last year I really wouldn't want be in any of you shoes . . . cardiac arrest time! :o But it is nice to be on the outside looking in! :D

An amazing last day its going to be.

Would like to see preston sneak in there, they are the form team but need other results to go for them. If it does then they would be my fav's for the play offs.

uncle colin is in a difficult position, hes definately blunted but will want them to be promoted for sure. His best hope is that birmingham win and then palace result is not so important.

like or loathe colin hes one of the games characters and would be worse without him, he dish's in out but he also knows how to take it.

Its no secret that Warnock HATES Wally Downes , Reading's coach after an incident when we were playing United and Gillespie got sent off, both sent to the stands, he has also gone on record as saying that after their 2-0 defeat at Doncaster he is looking very closely at offloading some of the bigger names this summer...so it's not a happy Palace right now.

Having said that Warnock is a pro, he has a good relationship with Steve Coppell, but has not many freinds at Birmingham.

Some punters on the Reading forum think he will put out a reserve side ..."blooding the youngsters" after his outburst about his regulars. some think that Palace will be going for it...and lets face it Neil's job could be on the line as well, Palace have had a very poor season.

Anyway...Reading HAVE to beat Brum and hope Palace can stiffle United, a draw is no good to United or Reading ..we are at home , United away...God only knows what will happen

We will know in a few days time

We live in "interesting" times

if the blunts only make the playoffs, they may welcome a favour from their neighbours at the sty in beating cardiff to help keep preston out.

For me preston in playoffs= promotion

no preston in playoffs= sheff u promotion.

Anyone know if any bars will be showing it in Bangkok around the Sukhumvit area

Well done with the win last night Reading,,kept yourselves right in it.

I remember the game that Wally and Neil were almost scrapping on the touch line.

I also remember Gillespie was sent on as a sub,,walked straight up to Hunt,,and punched him in the face,,red carded and left the field.

It must be the quickest spell ever to spend on a pitch.

Bizzare.
