Democrats urges Kasit to revoke Jakrapob's passport

The ruling Democrat Party Friday urged Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya to revoke a Thai passport held by red shirted leader Jakrapob Penkair to prevent him from using foreign countries as a launching pad against the government.

The Party would consult with Kasit when he returned from the United States over the matter, according to the Party Spokesman Buranat Samutharak.

UDD to rally at Sanam Luang Saturday

The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) announced on Friday it would hold a rally in Bangkok on Saturday evening following the lifting of the state of emergency by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva earlier in the day.

Somyos Pruksakasem said red-shirt rallies would be held afterwards in major provinces including Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai, Udon Thani and Nonthaburi.

The UDD earlier planned a protest in Samut Sakhon on Sunday, but Somyos said that was now cancelled.

The more one reads about the level to which most MPs from the Thaksin proxy parties have sunk in their bid to cling on to some kind of power and bring the Shinwatra circus back into town, the more one is led to sympathise with the PAD demands for a New Politics, free of vote-buying and cronyism, where ordinary people including farmers, trade union leaders, academics and those from different walks of life (but with a clean criminal record) have a chance of beign represented through a new system of interest group representation. Also, a country where the justice system is allowed to work and no one, especially the present or former Prime Ministers, are above the law. Until the Reds and their thuggish groups of supporters recognise this and call for Thaksin to come home and stand trial for his alleged trials, as well as do the time for his existing conviction, then Thailand will be swamped in a mire of political decline.

The emphasis is now very much on the Reds and Thaksin's proxy puppets to stand down from parliament and other govt institutions and accept liability for the chaos and damage caused to the country's reputation and economy.

I think Arisman might have some other ulterior motives and reasons for attempting to bring down the government....

1.2 Billion Reasons...

arisa.jpg

Singer-turned-politician former MP from Banned Thai Rak Thai Party Arisman Phongruangrong

The Assets Examination Committee yesterday indicted eight individuals for corruption relating to 1.2 Billion Baht in kickbacks over construction of the Ua Athorn housing project.

They included former Social Development and Human Security Minister Watana Muangsook, his aide Mana Wongpipat, and former MP Arisman Pongruangrong.

"Of the 15 contractors for the Ua Athorn project, eight have been linked to the 1.2 Billion Baht in bribes and evidence has clearly shown that the minister and his middlemen demanded and received kickbacks," AEC member Kaewsan Atibhodi said.

Police Hunt for Red-shirt Core Leader Arisman

Police officers from the Region 6 Provincial Police Office have been deployed to Mae Sot district of Tak province to hunt for a red-shirt core leader who has an arrest warrant against him. The suspect has yet to be found.

Region 6 Provincial Police Commissioner Police Lieutenant-General Surasri Soontornsaratoon chaired a meeting with police officers from the Region 6 Provincial Police Office at Mae Sot Police Station in Tak province today.

Officials have been instructed to hunt for red-shirt core leader Arisman Pongruangrong , who now has an arrest warrant against him. There are some reports that he has fled to the Thai-Myanmarese border area in Mae Sot district.

Arisman is accused of instigating people to create mayhem in Bangkok during the Songkran holiday.

During the police operation, officers searched many venues such as the former office of the now-dissolved Thai Rak Thai Party and other locations in Mae Sot district. However, the officers have found no trail or clues linked to the suspect.

After the operation, Police Lieutenant-General Surasri said sources have told police that some red-shirt leaders who have arrest warrants against them have fled to Mae Sot district.

Police expect Arisman is still hiding in Mae Sot because he has a close relationship with former members of the Thai Rak Thai Party there.

What about Somkiat of Democrat Party? He's a core leader of PAD and is still free. He together with the yellows occupied Government House 3 months and 2 airports for a week.

FM Kasit, needless to say, is not a leader but is so famous on PAD stage. He tells people in other countries that there won't be another airport blockage :o .

If you want the same standards, Jatupon should still be free at least 8 months later, December 2009, as all PAD are still free.

Ah that's it!

You can act treasonously, IF you are a Member Of Parliament.

You can agitate a crowd of thousands to rampage in the streets

and attempt to bring down the government by rioting and force,

IF you are a PTP MP... It's so clear now!

Can he shoot someone and get immunity?

Can he be charged with the deaths of those two locals,

shot by Red Shirts for defending their neighborhoods,

because HE instigated the rampage of his fellow redshirts?

His actions SEEM to have directly resulted in the deaths of those two people.

I think the Gov. have too much on their plates now,

but shouldn't this nutball's MP status be revoked for his actions by other MP's?

Or isn't there a parliamentary mechanism to delete from the legislature

an openly violent and seditions person?

New politics? 70% dragged in and 30% elected? Or 50-50? Because they are minority but want to have power for good?

"a country where the justice system is allowed to work"? Those who blocked airports after sleeping inside Government House are still free and still set up concerts in the South. The blues are new (not?). Let's wait what they will do to the blues.

Everybody knows this and PAD are still free. What about things that Democrat Party did in the dark? No one can know.

I can guarantee you that if by now Khun T gives up and cooperates with Democrat Party, no one will ever mention what he has done.

* We don't want to kill anyone. We just ask them to accept the election results and not to stage any more coups.

---------------------

Baht&Sold @ Koo (last week, STILL awaiting a response)

-I must say although I disagree with many of your posts, I do appreciate your passion and agree with the above insofar as my own feeling is coup's are NOT the answer (nor is occupying airports, rioting, or especially killing innocents, by any side).

I must also say, fact is the last coup was more than 3 years ago, and we are now currently in a critical global economic crisis and the last thing Thailand needs is instigated instability and violence, CLEARLY? There are signs the global economic crisis is now hitting bottom, thus, why not give the current Govt time to try and steer the country out from this highest priority for ALL and THEN call elections (say 3 to 6 more months, vs 3 or 4 months of a rudderless Govt should the house be dissolved now and new elections be called?)

Getting back to coups, I wish Thailand had left Mr Thaksin in his autocratic regime, until even the most heinously trapped ('conveniently' for Mr Thaksin's needs) impoverished villager said MAI OW under the crushing weight of even more 'easy debt' and self-dissolving decaying populist candy cynically offered, instead of needed long-term assistance, re-training, re-tooling and REAL reform...

Last, do you feel Mr Thaksin's court case on the confiscation of his frozen 76 billion baht (approx 2.2 Billion USD) which is due in just a few weeks has ANY possible bearing on the sudden increase of desperate acts by the suddenly 'incited' reds?

I know you can speak and write PERFECT English from 'SOME' of your varied posts, thus, understanding and responding to this one should not pose a problem. Sincere thanks for your consideration to reply to any points. Cheers! :o

Koo, i know you are Thaksin's boyfriend. However allow me to address your concerns, maybe even you can still wake up from your coma.

Why are PAD still free? Because they are on bail, just like UDD/DAAD leaders. Also PAD did neither burn buses nor kill innocent bystanders nor commandeer gas tankers nor hijack army tanks. The Airport Blockade is all everyone can see for it did cost a bit of money. Guess what - so did the red's actions which were on televison worldwide, and believe me, burning buses downtown Bangkok scare more tourists away than The Airport Blockade. Because the latter was PEACEFUL, get it? Nobody dead, nobody injured...... and not even any property damage.

Khun T, your beloved leader, unfortunately will never give up. He doesn't give a rat's @ss about country or people - all he wants is "his" <deleted>' money and the power to make more of it, regardless by what means - insider trading, tax evasion or common corruption. Thaksin does NOT want democracy - he wants absolute power, he wants to be president/dictator of Thailand, get it?

And about the 70/30% thing - even thouigh that is off the table since long time already, you keep beating that dead horse - don't you have something new against PAD? Ask your boyfriend Khun T for some new ideas, please.

Best regards.....

Thanh (oops i'm a "Khun T" as well..... forgive me.....)

It is about time that Mark arrest all the TRT & PPP leaders.

Jail all of them for good.

Remove all their passports so that they cannot escape to Africa or central America to form a government in exile.

THEN we will have peace in Thailand.

Revoke Jakrapob's passport: Democrats

By The Nation

Published on April 25, 2009

The ruling Democrat Party has urged Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya to revoke the passport of red-shirt leader Jakrapob Penkair to prevent him from using any foreign country as a launch pad against the government.

Party spokesman Buranat Samutharak said it would consult with Kasit when he returned from the United States.

Fugitive Jakrapob, whose whereabouts are unknown, has said via international media that the red-shirts may very well turn from peaceful struggle to insurgency.

Jakrapob, a former minister at the Prime Minister's Office, is charged with lese majeste and has been missing since the Songkran Day rioting.

New politics? 70% dragged in and 30% elected? Or 50-50? Because they are minority but want to have power for good?

Who are they? Farmers, teachers, noodle vendors, taxi drivers - all those groups that will send their representatives to the parliament under 70% quota?

What IS the minority is several thousand utterly corrupt politicians who have stranglehold on Parliament and who do not represent anyone but themselves and their paymasters. They are your real enemy, not yellows.

They need red shirt support to destroy anyone standing in their way to plunder the country - judicial system and bureaucracy, and educated middle classes, represented by yellows at this point.

Bureaucrats are the only group with enough power to thwart their corrupt schemes that hurt the country. Bureaucrats are not the enemy of the people, they are the ones who oversee its developement and actually implement all the projects and policies, and they have life long commitments to their jobs. Politicians, on the other hand, change every six months and they all want to get rich quick during their short spells in power, they don't care about long term effects, they don't need to keep the "golden goose", so to speak.

There aren't enough clean people in this country, bureaucrats are least dangerous, if you think of it for a second - they skim off their life long jobs, it's a kind of incentive to keep their industry developing rather than let it run into the ground.

And there's a natural cap on how much they can possibly steal - they are in service positions, they aren't too ambitious or greedy, comparing to top businessmen who want to control them. All they can steal is to cover a few personal items - cars, houses, jewellry - it's peanuts, really.

Most imporant, however is that they can be used as a counterwieght to politicians. Giving politicians full power at the expense of bureaucracy is not healthy for the country. You need to keep balance.

No Thaksin's phone-in during Saturday rally

Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will not make a phone-in to address his supporters at their rally at Sanam Luang Saturday evening.

Somyos Prueksakasemsuk said there would be no special highlight during the rally and the rally would be short, not a prolonged one.

He said people, who want to join the rally, could wear any colour of shirt.

WHITE

Brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer color. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. However, white shows dirt and is therefore more difficult to keep clean than other colors. Doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility.

No need of pictures it was witnessed by their neighbors as

they as a group defended their homes from the agitated mob.

It has been widely reported and aknoleged as the only actual deaths in this rioting.

But the red shirts are trying to spin it and say it's Newin's blues dress red to implicate them.

Fun this idea was NEVER mentioned BEFORE the red shirts caught full blame, square in the face, for this.

The red shirt leaders agitated their mob till it ran amok and did it over a wide area, not just Bangkok

and that is verified by TV footage from several sources including Red shirt sources.

So in most countries the leaders who agitated a mob into violent actions are charges as ringleaders,

and held accountable for the actions they put in motion.
