No Extension Of Stay On Visa

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, on my 1 year multiple entry O visa its been stamped by the thai consulate with "no extension of stay" when it was issued is this normal? Does it mean i can still go out every 90 days and return and extend it to 15 months by going out just before it expires? any answers welcomed thanks.

On a multiple entry non im O you will have to leave every 90 days (unless it has changed recentley), as far as i no it should be good for up to 15 months but i am unsure about the " no extension of stay" part.

But i am also new to this so maybe a more informed member will reply.

Ditto above. you'll have to leave every 90 days and should be able to work the visa for 15 mths.

I'm not certain, but I would imagine that the "no extension" part simply means that when the visa expires, you won't get any more time. That, as opposed to going for a 1 year extension to a non O visa on the basis of marriage etc

Above answers are correct - you receive 90 day stay on each entry and the no extension refers to the fact that you can not get a 30 day extension like on a tourist visa by going to immigration and filing a form TM7. If you qualify such a visa can be extended on a yearly basis and often a short period for good reasons however.

Short answer: you can enter/exit for periods of up to 90 days until the expiration date of the visa so total in-country time could be close to 15 months.

My understanding of the "no extension of stay" is that it is meaningless

in most situations.

If you need and qualify for an extension you will get it.

However it does give them a let out if they want to refuse you.

Generally with the multi-entry visa you must leave every 90 day, and with care it will last you 15 months.
