Well , mine wasn,t anything to do with Sheff Utd (not suprising really).

I was in Barranquilla , Colombia in 1995 and had the honour of watching a championship deciding game between Atheletico Junior and Cali.

Carlos Valderrama was playing.

Talk about a party atmosphere,,,,Valderrama wigs were on sale,,,security sported machine guns , being a Gringo I was constantly pelted with plastic cups of god knows what. All in good humour.

I had no choice but to go along with it. Imagine that at a Prem club!

What a good time....

Football was brutal however....If it wasn,t for the uplifting intervention of Carlos it would have been a blood bath,,thinking about it ,,it was a blood bath.

A statue of the man himself.........anyone remember the friendly between England and Colombia when the Colombian goal keeper back flipped the ball out his goal mouth,,,,amazing.

If you are thinking of a trip to Colombia,,,,there is a national park next to Santa Marta called..Parque National Tyrona...and has the best beaches that I have ever seen. Me and then girlfriend lived on one for a week and saw two people.

Real pirates of the carribe kind of thing

I've seen Valadarama play about 3 times i think Blunt..

He was palying in the MLS for Miami when i was living in Chicago but he was past his best at that time & very rarely ventured outside of the Centre Circle..

I've got a few memorable Games..

Real Madrid V Athletico Madrid at the Bernabeu in 2002/03 ( i think )

Metz V West Ham where we overturned a 0-1 First Leg to win 3-1 there in 99..

Winning 4-1 at <deleted> Fart Lane in the early 90's at Easter, then winning 2-0 at Highbury the following week.

An FA Cup Replay at Grimsby on a Tues/Weds night in Feb back in the Mid 90's where we lost 0-3, no one said memorable had to be good.

England V Cameroon mid 90's, Rio's debut i think at the old Wembley & i have NEVER been so cold at a Football Match in my life, won

2-0..

Winning 4-0 at Stamford Bridge in 86, West Ham everywhere & i was only young & rememeber sitting in the West Side thinking that it was just like a Home Game..

England V Argentina in St Etienne in 98, i was absolutely G.U.T.T.E.D. after that & we didn't have a Hotel so had to have 5 of us sleeping in the Car which i wouldn't recommend..

Mine has to be 1972,watching Stoke City beat Chelsea 2-1 in the league cup final. The atmosphere was amazing from the night before in London,a few squirmishes though lol.

I've only been to 1 game: July 2007 - a friendly between Chelsea and the L.A Galaxy. Beckham's first game for the Galaxy.

Now, if we're talking American football, I was at the Big Game with the Big Play, the rivalry between Stanford and Cal, where Cal scored a touchdown on a kickoff return by running through the Stanford marching band on the last play in the game.

My first ever trip to Anfield I must of been over 25 years ago I think. I travelled down with my mates on a coach from Morecambe I was about 13 then. We had all pesterd are parents to let us go alone and saved up poket money for this.

When we got there we were suppose to pick up tickets at the office as my mates mum had booked the tickets and paid by credit card via the phone (or that's what we thought) so we got to the ticket office and they hadn't received the booking or something had gone wrong! No Internet back then... there was four of us in total inc my mates younger brother he would of been a year younger.

We had only brought enough cash for a match programme and some food etc. So we put are monies together and that would of got us 2 tickets as just short a few quid for a third ticket ... So then my mates youngest brother who came was voted he would have to miss it :) and the women at the ticket office might let us by with the third as just short. Anyway we were stood in the ticket office and the game was about to start you could here it...

Then a local Liverpool guy walked in he looked business like the way he was dressed and in a rush and we were still talking to the girl at the booth. He saw are faces (well the younger one) who was in near tears by then...and said whats up boys, after explaining he went to the girl at the ticket booth and paid for the rest the tickets and said enjoy lads...

My mates younger brother's face lit up we all thanked the strnager and we all run up to the Kop and just remember being a bit scared for some reason? as the Kop was already full. I Just remember the noise and the excitment when everyone was chanting and seeing some of my heroes on the pitch Barnes etc it wasn't like anything I had ever seen.

We worked our way down between all the fans who seemed to be just bigger older guys until we got closer to the front to be able to see anything. Being younger nobody seemed to mind us pushing through (It was all stand up then)

Anyway the rest is history but that memory never left me or my mates.

Without doubt for me it was the first and only time Rotherham have played at wembley, April 14th 1996 in the Auto windscreens sheild final against Shrewsbury, yep I know its not the champions league or FA cup final, but for us little clubs its special. It was a great weekend away in London, even better that we won 2-1 with goals from Nigel Jemson. I can remember feeling hypnotised walking up Wembley way thinking god im watching Rotherham, at wembley I walked past my Dad and also my Girlfriend of the time and didn't even see em. I was just awestruck. I still remember it like it was yesterday, I have the programme and tickets framed and displayed in my office in Chiang Mai. Sad I know but thats my most favourite football memory.

I used to travel to most of Chelsea's away matches in the 1960's and 70's and one trip that stands out is the visit to Anfield for the match on Boxing Day 1966.

We left london on Christmas evening in a Ford Prefect because we had to collect two friends that were staying at King's Lynn which is on the east coast of England. Then we had to cross the Peak District on our way to Liverpool.

The trip started to get exciting when we were high up in the Peak District and the driver found that he had no brakes. It was 2am on Boxing Day morning and we still had a long way to go. Then. luckilly, we stumbled upon one of the few all night garages in the area.

Examinations showed that the brake fluid system was leaking, but they didn't have the expertise to fix things, all they could do was to top up the brake fluid and sell us a couple of cans to top-up as we went.

It was a bit hair-raising, and nobody slept as we stopped every hour or so to top-up. Eventually the fluid was all used up as we headed north on the M6 and we came to a halt at Knutsford service station by using the handbrake. They also were unable to fix the problem, but were able to supply more brake fluid.

Onward to Anfield and, near the ground, we found a garage who could fix the problem whilst we were at the match. Funny how I don't remember a thing about the return journey.

Oh, and the match went the way of nearly all our matches at Anfield at the time, Willie Stevenson & Roger Hunt scored for the Scousers and Bobby Tambling got a consolation penalty for us.

Not really a memorable match, but certainly a memorable trip.

My very first match was a visit to Stamford bridge Chelsea v Man U ,1967 ish with Best Charlton Law,....Tambling, ect.and then Arsenal v Man U AT Highbury where I claim to have thrown the ball back to GB...for a throwing they still show repeats of that match when showing old Man U footage..but at about 11 years old I dropped Man U for classy Spurs... :):D
