epicstuff Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I see them everywhere on houses and restaurants BUT where do you buy them.?? Does anyone know a supplier for used Railway sleepers?
johna Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I should imagine you would get them from the State Railway's of Thailand. Aren’t these sleepers made from Teak? If so you can plain of the weathered outer skin and you would have brand new looking Teak, and that does not come cheap
tpthai2 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I see them everywhere on houses and restaurants BUT where do you buy them.??Does anyone know a supplier for used Railway sleepers? I looked at this several years ago. There are large stocks of these near Pichit. I took a long look in 2002 considering the commercial potential. The "sleepers" are graded into 4 or 5 grades determined by condition. There are made of several types of wood. Only after plaining would you know the wood type. The State railway knows what they have. In 02' the grade A sllepers were going for 500bt. each. Now? Who knows.
