I have just had my work permit application refused. I need a new one as the queues were so long at immigration that by the time they had given me my stamp the department of transport was already closing and they refused me the next day, so I have to reapply even though I have held a work permit for 8 years.

The reason for the refusal is the medical certificate. They tell me I need to have a blood test to show I do not have syphilis. My doctor tells me he has done numerous medical certificates for patients in these last few weeks and none have returned asking for this. Has anyone else encountered the same problems?
