Propane BBQ?

Featured Replies

Help! I've been looking all over Pattaya for an American style propane BBQ.

I found one at Carrefour at the Home Pro but it was pricey at $19999. Anywhere else in Pattaya that I can find a smaller, least expensive BBQ? Has to be propane so I can quickly fire it up.

Take a look at Foodmart supermarket.

When driving to Jomtien it's on the right 50 meters before the traffic lights with Theprasit road.

They have some models on display outside next to the entrance, but I recall them not being cheap as well!

These are from an Aussi in BKK named Brad.

He runs the Lookie Lookie Bar in Sukhumvit Soi 33, and he also has a sideline business imprting BBQ's from AUS & NZ.

No, they're not cheap as they're fully imported, but he does have a good range to choose from.

If you want to see what's on offer, PM me and I'll send you his web and email address.

U have PM.

Look for shops that sell Thai cooking equipment.

Coooking cowls and the like.

I am thinking of the open grills that the Thai's use.

It may not be exactly what you want, but as sure as heck will not cost 20K.

Too true...

And you can get an aluminium hotplate made up custom sized for very little outlay if you want a plate rater than a grill. :o

Thaiboxer1,

I had a gas bbq made at a Thai metal shop. All up you could do this for about 7000 baht. This is probably the cheapest option.

If you would like more details just send me a pm.

Sorry, but why propane? Charcoal is cheap (12-14 baht a bag) and gives a better taste to the (burnt) food.

The Thai way - clay pot with coals in - gives a good meal.

While that may be true, Thaiboxer1 is looking for a unit he can fire up quickly. Charcoal is not that quick, especially if you use the local coal.

Bon Appetit

I always thought that you could make (have made) an outstanding farang style BBQ for a fraction of the price than the imported ones.

8900 baht

I cannot get that link to work. The only BBQ I can find in the Thai language section is an electric one.

it comes under the electric bbq section but in the english version actually tells you it is gas. I think those smaller ones you see on that page are electric.

Thanks guys for all the help. I lucked out today when I mentioned this to my landlady. She had a friend who just happened to be getting rid of one and I bought it for a reasonable price.
