Usb, Pc To Phone Connector..

Featured Replies

(Bit of a silly question really..but would like to know...)

Bought a usb to phone connector cable, to replace my missing one. With the old one I used it both to recharge my phone and for transferring data from pc to phone/phone to pc. The new cable that I could find to fit my phone, is a flashing light-up malarky made in china. Now, it works as a charger, but not as a data cable. When my phone comes up with "shut down for mass storage", it doesnt come up on my computer screen. I have two computers, not working on either, no matter what path I go looking down. Took it back to the shop along with my minipad asking for help. After a ton of different reasons he gave for it not working (none of which were right..ie: your phone cannot do that ..but it can..did it before), he just said it cannot be used as a data cable and we dont give refunds. :D

..I was of the thinking that all usb to phone cables like that are supposed to be data cables too. Is that not correct?

Just dont get why its not working as a data cable too.

Thanks for any tips. :)

Not all of them perform both functions - that is correct.

You need to get a proper cable for that phone... best bet is to get a replacement one made by the manufacturer of the phone, as that will definitely work.

A good basic rule is, anything from China with flashing lights - be immediately suspicious. :)
