Possible Heart-attack Kills Foreigner

Featured Replies

At 2pm on 2nd July, Pattaya police were informed that a foreigner had been found

dead. Police and a team from Sawang Boriboon arrived at a rented 2 storey townhouse on Pattaya 3rd road to meet with the informant; Mrs. Muay Kasoi, a neighbour who led them inside the house.

In the master bedroom, on the second floor, police were shown the body of Mr. Frank Rainer Knittel, aged 65, a German national, lying beside the bed in his shorts. Mrs. Muay informed the officers that the deceased man had been living in the house for about 3 years, and although he regularly brought home Thai women, he lived alone.

Examining the body, police believe he had been dead for between three and four days. There were no signs of foul play and all his belongings seemed to be accounted for. He did, however, have a lot of medication, including some sexual stimulant drugs around the room, police believe it is possible that Mr. Knittel had a sudden heart attack while he was alone in the room.

Mr. Knittel's body was sent to Bangkok for an autopsy and the German Embassy has been informed.
