Sanam Luang 2

I'm confused about Sanam Luang 2.

I understand that this is a second location of the Weekend Market. Same idea or different?

I have had people swear up and down that it is located somewhere between Thonburi and Nakhon Pathom. I have had other people swear up and down that it is located somewhere northeast of Minburi.

Who knows more about this place.

And, specifically, I am looking for sources to purchase small parrots (actually conures) other than the regular Weekend Market. But this post is more about location than birds.

Used to live in that area for about 5 years before I moved back to Singapore. Bought my aquarium there. The place you are looking for is located in a soi called Liabklontaweewattana. If you are driving westbound from Pin Klao, once you reached the end of elevated express lanes, move to the outer lanes immediately upon exit and continue for a few kilometers. A small bilingual sign of the above soi can be seen fairly close to the junction and can be missed easily. Once you are in the soi, dong bai for about 3 kilometers and you will be there. My advice is to drive slow if you are not familiar with that area. Alternatively, if you drive along Phetkhasaem Road, make a uturn at Carrefour Nong Khaem and turn into the first soi you come across. Its the opposit end of that soi and between sai 2 and sai 3. Hope this will help.

Another couple of places to buy parrots are Talad Thai and Talad Rangsit.

I bought this young fella at Talad Rangsit last year.

I did get some clarification, and I appreciate the posts made here. Some people confused me because they were confused. Sanan Luang 2, as Gunga Din pointed out, is one place and Chatuchak 2 is another place. Two different places, perhaps the same concept.

How to get there...

There is no direct bus service to SL2,

however, you can catch a 539 or a 515 to Phutthamonthon Sai 3

(cost 19bt) from Victory Monument (exit 3) near the stairs or escalators.

and get a taxi or Moto taxi from Sai 3.

Both buses are airconned.

Taxis from BKK center won't normally want to go there, so book a taxi on

1681 via yr mobile phone, they will ask you for your number.

Cost around 250-300bt incl booking fee.

Saturday & Sunday for pets & plants ....... for birds, look for Soi 11, it's near there.

Monday is plant day, it's worth the trip out.

He's a beauty. I assume by Talad Thai you are talking about the agriculture market just south of the Weekend Market? Where abouts is Talad Rangsit (other than in Rangsit)?
