While I DO like much modern architecture, even Boubourg in Paris (Pompidou Center)

this one DOES look like an unfinished post '97 Bagnkok ruin was bought up

and they just started building up above it....

Steve, I don't quite see the iconic status, no matter who Ole dates.

It's no NYC Chrysler building nor a Sydney Opera House. Instantly recognizable

and integrated into it's environment, often BECOMING the environment.

Even with bigger and taller next door, Chrysler is just too cool to ignore.

I would have preferred something with a bit more actual classic Asian sensibility of design.

Too often architects seem to get lost in the technical achievment they can pull off,

and less in the fitting into the local aesthetic. But a big edifice can re-configure

a neighborhood, for good or ill.

I am a fan of The FOUNTAINHEAD and it's protagonist.

But not of the character Toey.

Who is the developer?

My personal opinion from the rendering is that it looks like a CGI building from a disaster movie after the disaster has happened.

Maybe it'll look better in real life

This was exactly my thought. The closeups look pretty cool, but the total work from a distance looks like it's designed to fit in among the post-1997 landscape without sticking out, heh.
