I get into Bangkok around 10pm tonight, and fly to Singapore on a visa run tomorrow morning at 9am.

I have to check in around 7:30am.

Does anyone know when the buses start and finish from Khao San to the airport? All i can find is information about coming the other way.

Are there any cheap (less than 500B) hotels near the airport?

not sure about the bus finish times but if I were you I would check out the Airport Hotel. Novotel Suvarhnabhumi is close. Just outside the airport there seems to be a few cheapish looking hotels.

by the time you get a taxi I guess to and from the airport to khao san, find a hotel for 1000 baht and take a shower, you will need to start thinking about returning.

Im coming from Kanchanaburi, my bus leaves here 7pm and pulls into Khao San.

At the moment my plan of action is to stay at the 4 sons for 400B then try and get a bus in the morning. Are taxis expensive? I haven't taken a taxi to the airport since September and my memory fails me on prices!

Taxi will cost you around 250 to 300 baht, plus tolls of 70 baht. There's no surcharge for going TO the airport.
