Hi all,

I've heard that there're 2 daily buses going from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Aranya Prathet.

Does anyone know where to find them?

Any idea about time schedule and prices?

Many thanks in advance!!

True, there are two buses from Suvarnabhumi to Aranyaprathet daily. In fact they go to Rong Kluea market at the border. The buses are yellow.

Departure time is 7.15 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. I can vouch that 7.15 is correct because I took it last week.

However, inside the bus there is a timetable that says departures are at 7.0 a.m. (sic) and 9.30 a.m. (the times were changed last December - it used to leave at 8.0 a.m.). So I'm not sure whether the advertised 9.30 departure is still correct.

Price is 187 baht.

They start from the "Transportation Centre" which is a few kilometres away from the airport terminal. Taxis do not seem to know of this place existence, though it is a regular (and quite large) bus station. I have not yet figured out whether it is possible to get to the bus station by getting down off the motorway on the approach to the terminal - there are no signs. You can get to it by taking the free shuttle bus from the terminal (the bus stop is at the far end on the lowest level) - takes about 20 minutes.

In fact, there is no need to go to the Transportation Centre... the Aranyaprapet buses go past the terminal building (the same stop as the shuttle buses) and you can get on there. There are no signs around, but somewhere inside the terminal must be a ticket booth because I saw people getting on with tickets. Personally, I would try to get on at the Transportation Centre (=bus station) because waiting at the terminal is nasty, whereas the bus station is pleasant and you can just hop on your waiting bus.

Coming back from Rong Kluea, departures are assuredly 12.30 p.m and 2.30 p.m, from the far corner of the market. There are two bus companies here, but again there are no signs in English. The nearer desk sells tickets for the yellow bus to the airport. The next desk (blue bus, departing at midday), also claims that their buses go to the airport, but I suspect they only go past the airport on On Nut road and may not pull into the bus station. I may be wrong but I didn't see any sign of blue buses at the airport bus station.

It's a pleasant trip, only three and a half hours, on quiet roads. Bon voyage.

Kan Win, I always check google before I ask a question. Unfortunately, in some cases you get outdated information, which easily can ruin your plans. Finding some controversial answers I decided that it's better to ask in this particular case. This is why forums exist IMHO. :) Thanks for the link.

ddavidovsky, Thanks a lot, mate!! You helped A LOT supplying the recent info I've been looking for! The problem is that I arrive to BKK at 10:30, so I miss them both. :D It seems that the only way is to get a cab to Morchit station...

If anyone can suggest a better way forward, please do. Thanks a lot in advance!

Have Fun! Stay Safe! :D

Another alternative may be the train from Lad Krabang station (this is the station/platform under the new Lad Krabang airport link station and the train that runs under the airport link, but going the other way). According to my schedule there are two trains per day. The first train will be to early for you at 06.55 but the next train at 13.42 may well work for you. The timetable shows it arrives at Aranyaprathet at 17.35 and the train no looks to be 279. You'll need to get a taxi to the station which I would estimate at about 70B (on a meter). The fares on the train are heavily subsidised at the moment (free for Thai's and nominal charges for Farangs). I don't know what this fare will be but I only pay B5 to get into Asoke everyday from Lad Krabang so would be substanitally cheaper than any other form of transport IMHO.

Enjoy your journey with whatever you decide.
