Heavy Rain In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Ruam Rudee became a klong this afternoon. Cars, tuk tuks and motor cycles got their bottoms wet but this Thai girl skirted the river nicely.

Unreal, I used to live on Ruam Rudee soi 2 and got stranded a few times as I had no car back then.

The key Q, tho, is how long did it take for most of the water to drain off, to at least a reasonable level?

It was back to being just a wet street in about an hour.

Hi

Just wait until later this year when all the water that has been dropped up north and east is starting to stream towards the ocean.

Most klongs assisting Chao Praya river have been filled, to make real estate/roads, so there are not so many natural water ways left.

Especially when there is a high tide, prox 1/3 of Bangkok downtow will be flooded.

Trying to attach 2 pics I took some time ago.

Where did you take these photos?

Scary!

Just a few puddles, not a problem for the S-Class :) "Up go the windows, out goes Bangkok"

Corky you're always taking photos from the passenger seat - do you make Mrs. Corky do the driving?

I noticed in one of the photos the entrance to the garage (basement) at Noble 09. I wonder if how that basement area does during the heavy rains.

edit: You weren't one of those cool cats hanging out at Circle last night were you, Corky?

One picture in the port of Klong Toey.

And the other from the river, when passing somewhere in Samut Prakarn.
