Security Upgrade At Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

Baggage handlers at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand have been given uniforms with pockets sewn shut to prevent pilfering and 327 new security cameras are to be installed in the luggage sorting zone.

In the airport's public areas, free WiFi is being installed, as well as 126 Internet terminals for travellers without laptops, and restrooms are being added. Outside, police are cracking down on illegal taxi touts and unauthorised tour guides.

Overall, about US$4.4 million is being spent to upgrade the airport, which opened in 2006.

Anyone know when the free wi-fi becomes operable??

Impressive. I knew someone who worked at the US Mint and she told me they do the same thing: coveralls with no pockets.

But in Amazing Thailand we'll see what sort of impressive undergarment pouches they come up with.

It's not going to be free. You will have to purchase cards to use airport wifi services, unlike most other major new airports in the region.

Yes another greedy move by AOT that demonstrates how much this airport lags behind its competitors.
