The Dusit itself has a good entertainment set-up - restaurants with shows and so on.

As you are at the North end of Pattaya, you have places like the Moon River Pub close by.

And the Dusit will be able to arrange tours to all the local interest places, also to golf courses if you want.

As it's your honeymoon the southern end of Pattaya should not interest you, except for the Blues Factory - Dave, why don't you sponsor this forum? - and such bar-restaurants as Kilkenny, Lobster Pot, Nuang Nual.

I would also recommend Sugar Hut for an evening meal, but you will need to give good directions to the taxi-driver.

I regularly stay at the Dusit, I think you have made an excellent choice and you most certainly will be well looked after.

Their Chinese restaurant is one of the best I have ever been in.

There are many excellent restaurants in Pattaya dependant on your taste in food and your budget. There are many Pattaya guide books that you can get on arriving. Despite what many kiljoys on this site will tell you, if you go into any bars with your new wife, you will not encounter ANY problems. The girls will be more interested in talking to your wife than you. They understand you are with your wife and they will respect that fact. Go on your own........ Different story!!!!!

As for shit teeshirts???? Many many places. Mike shopping mall. All you will hear is 'Mister have Big Size'

Enjoy and have a great time

Hi grogdog,

First thing clothes, go where you can try them on. The size on the ticket doesn't always match the item eg. I have some shirts XXL that are smaller than some XL and also smaller than an L that I bought at Marks & Sparks years ago. Mikes is a good place, check out their sale items on ground floor then look on 1st fl. you can pick up really decent shirts for under 300 baht. As for T-shirts, the difference in price from really cheap to good quality isn't so much, but you will soon see the difference when they are washed!

There are a lot of good restaurants that you don't hear too much about. If you can get to Jomtien, try L'Olivers ( hope I've spelt it correct ) it's down the road from View Talay on opposite side of road, can't remember the name of exact location, but no. is -060552573 and I don't have any connection with it. If you fancy English food, try the Pig & Whistle on soi 7. Go down to 2nd rd. across from soi Post-office and you've got Casa Pascal and also Alhoe. Then after you can walk across the road and spend a couple of hours in the Malibu. One of Pattayas best places for family entertainment. Catch Tina Turner & Elvis.

Hope that helps!! :o:D

Hi grogdog,

When you arrive at the Dusit speak to Mr. Preecha who is a guest relations manager. He has a lot of contacts and will help you.

There are some very nice restaurants and a few of my favourites are:-

Casa Pascal on 2nd Road opposite the Marriott Hotel...great food and service here in a super setting.

Adjacent to the Casa Pascal is the Ruen Thai restaraunt where you can see live Thai dancers as well as enjoying delicious Thai food.

Another favourite is the Narissa Restaraunt located on Beach Road ( part of the Siam Bayview hotel) where you can dine alfresco...good food lovely beach view and very relaxing.

The Montien Hotel on Beach Road holds various theme evenings, and their buffets are delicious......try a cocktail in the lounge and watch the cocktail waiter juggling with the cocktail shakers...

The best barbeque is where you are staying at the Dusit....every Saturday Night..absolutely superb.....

Congratulations and have a great time.. :o

Oh and I almost forgot to mention.... In Mikes shopping Mall towards the back you can buy good silk shirts in your size. Look for the Bowling and Manchester stalls...

lots of holiday makers here posting on where to eat... Montien? Bloody expensive. Eat off the road side food vendors, 20 Baht, never pay more as I can't afford to.

If he's staying at the Dusit. I don't think the price of meals at restaurants is likely to be an issue...

What "stuff" would that be ?

The kind that folds up in your wallet ? :D

Or the kind that pours from a bottle ? :D

Or the kind that goes "Hey Handsome Man" ? :o
