The device, which is produced in China and available to buy in Syria for around $15.

A device that allows women to feign virginity on their wedding night has caused uproar among conservative academics in Egypt.

Scholar Abdul Mouti Bayoumi has said those found importing the device should face charges of spreading vice in society, a crime punishable by death according to Sharia law.

The contraption, which releases a blood-like substance when triggered, has been used by women who want their husbands to believe they are virgins on their wedding night.

Pre-marital sex carries a heavy stigma in many conservative Arab societies.

Produced in China and available to buy in Syria for around $15, the device is much cheaper than hymen-repair surgery which is secretly performed in some Middle Eastern clinics.

Professor Bayoumi from the prestigious al-Azhar University told the BBC the device undermined the moral deterrent of fornication.

Members of the Egyptian parliament have also called for the contraption to be banned.

Sad that in certain societies women feel they have to go to these lengths. Double standards where women are expected to be as pure as the driven snow..zzz. Whats the reason for it anyway? Male vanity? Sorry if that sounds a bit feminazi of me (blaming the men) but really..why would women otherwise do it? Or, are women putting pressure on women too to be "virginal"? (Actually i do recall my own grandmother telling me i shouldnt let a man near me until the "ring is on my finger" and its my wedding night. )

Ive heard also of instances where a woman is rejected by her husband after she has been raped by another man. She is "tainted" goods after another man has touched her, even if against her will. Yet, its perfectly acceptable if he were to spread himself about like butter.

Even in western society women there is still a big double standard when it comes to women and sex and men and sex..but thats a whole other topic so nvm.

Imo the members of the Egyptian parliament shouldnt by crying out for the contraption to be banned, they should be addressing why their society feels the need (pressure?) to use it.

...In any case, some women may well be virgins but their hymen broke years ago from a non-sexual incident.

Goddam crazy world.

When I had my first sexual experience I felt obliged to conclude the act as quickly as possible to prove my previous purity. :)

Where can I get training to become a hymen repair technician ?

I think the chances of success in this caper would be heavily dependant on low or no lighting during the act.

So you think it would be better doing training in the dark ? That would require a delicate touch. :)

Personally I would hate to have to teach an inexperienced woman what was expected.

Better if you both know what you're doing from the start.
