Kan Win, I am amazed how nice your night photos of the Kanchanaburi Sound and Light Show 2007 came out. What is the setup and tricks you use to get such clear, colorful, photos?

Hi 'Nio',

Thank you for your comments about the night shots.

Basic things ready

1. Point and Shoot camera Oly 8080

2. Tripod is a must

3. Remote control is also a must, tried the 10 second timer once and that was either to blurry or I missed the shot.

3. Low ISO to get much clearer photo, no real noise in the photos.

4. Exposure setting at shutter speed, so then you control the speed and since I have been to this Kanchanaburi Sound and Light Show many times and years, it still is the same story only the Sound and Light changes.

5. Beer in hand to steady the nerves and give me the courage that I need for these sort of shots.

6. Not forgetting "Lady Luck' was on my side also.

Since I live here and have seen this show over many years I try and take photos from different location as you have seen, so the trick is, I go on the 1st or 2nd night to get the feeling, then once I know I count the seconds in the show of the light changes, not always spot on, but near enough. After that go once again find the location which I sniffed out already for the first photo shoot and then 'Lights, Action, Camera'............ Thats it.

This for me is one of the best. Shame me Tripod broke and fogot to straighten the photo before posting it on my webpage.

Great shots !

I really like them. I have tried myself a couple of times but not very successful.

Here is one taken 23.41 in full moonlight.

I think the reason for a blurry shot when using a timer and tripod could be the fact that you were maybe using Auto Focus? try using Manual Focus instead.
