bankexchangerates. daytodaydata.net/default.aspx

<<< More than one Post rank this as the best site for exchange info.

One view of all the banks. Is this legit or a Super Rich advertorial? [as it always the best]

-------------------

Where is the first, convenient internet, upon Arrival, to check the up to date rates?

----------

Another Poster asked if the 'Cheques' are referring to travellers cheques. I couldn't Find if that question was answered; or is it referring to Cashier's Cheque?

[We are planning to bring new Notes as I don't like 'paying' the fees for travellers cheques.]

----------------

Is there a limit on how much cash can be brought in? Is a paltry $5000 Canadian okay?

No matter what the exchange rate site tell you the rate is the banks and money changers here will give you what they deem to be the best for them. As for not wanting to pay a small fee to change travellers cheques and have peace of mind then you risk losing all your cash. I know which I would rather do.

Strange post. It would seem the OP wants the option to change his Canadian bucks to Thai baht somewhere between landing and clearing Customs. If that's the case, only SCB have exchange booths and ATM's in the baggage claim area so not sure what good having up-to-date forex info will do you especially since any fluctuation will see micro-miniscule effect on a C$5000 exchange.

I reckon you can bring in as much C$ (or other currency) as you like AS LONG AS YOU DECLARE IT. That way, you can take it with you when you leave, if that is your intention.

I carry mine with me and that would be my phone.

If with laptop you could take the walk and try to get in to any of the lounges or see if there is wifi signal in the vicinity.

As of my knowledge there is no public, free, "terminals" for internet except at the gates and you need a boarding pass to enter those except gates 1a and 2a ? The first ones with the smoking rooms but not sure if there is internet kiosks...

For the exchange rate there is not much you can do. The banks clearly advertise their rate and that is official rate and banks in Thailand are not in the business to rip you off on exchange rates. Sure you get bit better from city (superrich) but if you need to do it at the airport you do not have any options. You get what you get regardless what the internet says.
