we will be arriving from Zurich by swiss airlines and then going on by airfrance to vietnam. We have a 7 hour wait and have booked into Louis Tavern day rooms, Hopefully we can book our luggage straight through. If not what do we do? we don't want to have to go through customs and immigration two times because we are in Transit and the hotel told us itwas not necesssary. Can we collect our luggage without going through immigration and then check it in at the transfers section.

advice will be much appreciated

NO-this latter thought is ot possible, AFAIK not in any airport in this world.

First: you are most likely overworried, chances you can just have the check-in in ZRH label the luggage for check-through ar well over 99%. The main exception for this are low-cost carriers like AirAsia. You will need to show further flight details-so have that print-out of flight 2 ready,

Second: you will not be able to get a boarding pass for AF while in ZRH-which is also pretty logical. You get that at the trasnit desk in BKK-just follow signs. Perhaps there is a tiny chance they may not yet be able to do that on your arrival-bet thats (if at all) a very tiny minor quibble.

PS: sites like flyertalk.com etc are usually far better able to answer these type of questions-or just call SWISS at Kloten-to be 100% Swiss-style perfect sure of all.
