Congratulations.I hope your retirement years are happy. Two pieces of advice:

1.Find something useful to do (other than hobbies ), helping out a local charity or school perhaps.Full retirement is eventually not a happy option.

2. Food and drink should play a relatively minor role.Doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy wonderful Thai food and the odd beer, but I have seen many farang retirees throw away the chances of happiness through over indulgence. As so often in life, less means more.

Good luck

Moving from Saipan to Korat? Congrats, but sounds to me like your moving AWAY from paradise! Never been there, but it sounds like a nice retirement village.

Saipan is a nice place, but 26 years was enough. And, it is very expensive to live there. On my pension I would not have had a very nice lifestyle in the islands. Plus, it is small and isolated, so "getting away" is always an expensive and time-consuming proposition.

And, Boris, thanks for reiterating what is always good advice. In my years of coming to LOS I've seen so many farang to whom that has happened....
