Bts/mrt Near Wat Po

Featured Replies

Which are the closest BTS and MRT stations to Wat Po (Reclining Buddha, Grand Palace)?

Easiest way is probably to take the BTS to Saphan Taksin and then take the Chao Phraya boat service to Wat Po and the grand palace.

MRT and BTS don't go into Ratanakosin. The previous poster is correct, you could do it by getting off the Sktrain at the river and then hop a boat...a bit fun and scenic. Living on Sukhumvit, I'd probably get off the Skytrain at National Stadium and hitch a cab...probably more efficient.

BTS National Stadium by MBK is approximately 2.4 miles from Wap Po. MRT Station Hua LamPhong, outside the railways station is approximately 1.6 miles, in a straight line. (source: Google Earth)

Get off at the "Tha Tien" pier. Depending on the water taxi you take, they won't tell you which pier to get off unless you are on the toursit taxi.

Or take the BTS to National Stadium then

jump on bus number 47 to Wat Pho. Easy.

Bus 48, the pink ones are nice and airconditioned now, goes all the way along Sukhumvit, ends at Wat Pho.

14-16 Baht, depending on where you get on, 8 Baht if you take the old fan clunkers on the same route.
