The Man U bunch of you out there seem to have lost your voices all of a sudden. Just like they've lost second spot. Maybe London still does rule.

I can see London domminance of the Premiership for the next ten years now.

I stayed up to watch last nights game, Chelsea were poor but still one 3-1 By rights MU should have seen off Blackburn by half time but were just not clinical enough.

BIG diffence is Chelsea can wear down a dogged deffence, United now seem (Crystal palace another game in point) are unable to do.

Being a West Ender myself I am thrilled that the Blues have all but won the Championship, 3 more wins, who would bet against them?

Mr Lampard ur havin a laugh aren't you. Chelsea are the deserved winners of the league this season. They have played the best football and i hold my hands up but do me a favour and come back when you have won a few more cups or league titles.

see below

In summer 2002, i.e. the final summer of transfer activity before Abramovich and his rotten roubles came to town, Chelsea made one signing -- an average Spanish midfielder called Enrique de Lucas, who came either on a free transfer or a loan.

Previous to that, they were signing players like Jokanovic (remember him?) and Gronkjaer. That's how ######ed they were.

So, the next time some fool tells you that Chelsea won the league because of Mourinho's genius and not because of Russian mafia money, just remind them of that.

Sold your arse to a russian me thinks!

Enjoy it while you can

Who are man u or do you mean Man United

jip methinks this is sour grapes, MU have also spent money, remember they have the most expensive defender and also the most expensive defender- but DODGY KEEPER has been your main problem, now only if you could get your hands on Chelsea's reserve goalkeeper you may have something to play for

Posted

Not sour graps Thaipauly, If you looked at my post i said Chelsea desreve to win it.

Yeah agreed we have spent money on players but as Chelsea will find out now when they go for a player the price will go up so many million in the space of 2 hours because they have the money as United do. One thing is different though most of the Chelsea lads go there for the money dont they.

Now if Chelsea were as big a club as united, madrid, barc, arsenal and even Liverpool (thats hurts me to say that) the players would walk a million miles to play for these clubs as these are prestigious clubs, who have won lotsssssssssssssssssssss of cups and titles, but money talks me thinks.

Most of our success happened between 95 to 03 and if memory serves me wasn't most of the team home grown talent, which cost how much?

Good one though London dominating for the next ten years, funny one that!

I think you will find that Chelsea ARE the new Real Madrid, Barcelona MU. when you have players like Terry, Lampard, and Cole and Gudjohnson Johonson woven in their thier heart, the club means everything, they were there before the revolution, before Rooney and Ferdinand for example, just look at the poll that says England will win the next world Cup on Sky Sports. We are in front by a mile, because of many ENGLISH Chelsea players, I could not have said this 3 years ago as they were the FORST team to feild a team of foreigners. Like it or not they are the team to beat , they beat my club READING in the CC Cup last season and even then even with Crespo scoring the goal I was in awe of them, he is doing so well at the moment and I understand he is only on loan, and what can you say about Huth, outstanding. In my mind the manager has got it all together, remember what JF Haisslebaink said when Middlesbro lost 3-0 there when asked what the difference was this season as to last "THE MANAGER" was his reply.. what have you got say to that? I am happy to take your opinion, and of course football is always and always will be a matter of Opinion. However I still think Kezman is way below Chelsea standard- so thats honesty fr you, please reply..

You forgot Gudjohnsson and Joe Cole and Glenn Johnson and Terry. And what was wrong with Gronkjaer. I thought he was a brilliant winger. Quickest player in the p/ship. Only his final ball let him down a few times. But when he got it right. He was actually my favourite player. BTW, you might like to know that yes we have spent more than any club. The last player we bought took us past Fukasuns total..But as I said before,if you want a Porsche, you have to buy it,you can't wait all your life till someone gives you one. Manu is the Thai name for Manchester United Football Club. And when in Rome.................................................

Just on another note Thaipauly I thought Anders Frisk should have been congratulated by the Chelsea fans not threatened. If he had not sent Drogba off,he would have played at the Bridge, and no way would Chelsea have stormed into a three goal lead.

the topic says it all really, man u typical cockneys, and gloating cockneys at that, lol.

congratulations you deserve the league this year the hard part is winning it back to back ask arsenal, start of the year the invincibles now battling for 2nd with utd.

we will be back stronger next year, some great young talent comming through our reserves,on to keep a eye on is pique.

hope we buy essien for our midfield.

Nev I am sorry but you are wrong Chelsea Will win B2 b championships, they have lost a lost of crucial players and still made the game against southampton almost a walk in the park. Robben, Bridge, and a resrve keeper like Cuddicini, plus the best manager in the leauge will assure that if you want a private bet I will give you 3-1 just PM me, I am that confident. By the way are you Gary or Phil?

hey i wish i was gary or phil would love there pay cheque's.lol.

sorry i am not a gambling man but only time will tell,i supose dirty money can buy you one championship it can buy you two :D:o

would only take one chechen hitman to end it all :D

what ever happens will be a good season

I think the Summer signings will make a big difference for next season as Man.Utd and Arsenal clearly need a couple of world-class players if they are to bridge the gap. Can't say I've been particularly impressed with Drogba, and should Chelsea manage to lure a wolrd-class striker to their ranks, like Owen for example, taking the title off them may require a record points total.

manu is the Thai name for Manchester United Football Club. And when in Rome................................................

Mr Lampard it was said tongue in cheek.

It pisses die hard reds like myself to hear the Thais or whoever saying manu and i always correct them when possible. Being a season ticket holder for twenty years(my brother uses it ) and having followed United home and away and as well as Europe before i moved to Thailand some years back, it still pees me off to here people say manu.

Enjoy it Mr Lampard cos believe me having watched United through the late 70s and 80s and seeing some of the shit i watched, success makes it much sweeter.

As Nev said it is harder to win it back to back and lets see how hungry they are next season eh. Also we do have some top talent coming through, Pique, Rossi too name a few and our average age of the squad is looking fine. At least we have Fergie who will be up for the challenge next season.

Would only take one chechen hitman to end it all .

United were singing that in the semi final of the coca cola at Stamford bridge. Funny that one

Thaipauly as for England winning the world cup, come on. They can only play one way and can't adapt there game and yes i am an Englishman.

Looking forward to next season, should be a good season.

Posted

I did not infer that I personally thought we could win the world cup, if you check out Sky Sports site they are conduction a poll that when I last checked it said 43% of their viewers thought we would (and no the other 57% did not say Brazil).

However I feel we have as much chance as anybody, just feel our goalkeeper situation is a bit dodgy and that could be our downfall.

Just my 10p's worth

Posted

Hasn't your goalkeeping situation been dodgy since the great Dane Schemeical left? That should have been sorted out a long time ago and is a direct criticism of Ferguson that it hasn't.

Posted

Would have to agree with you on that, I am not a Man United fan, Bartez IMHO was still better than either of the keepers they have now, its a bit like England, again we have produced a string of great goalkeepers gping back to 1966.

Banks, Shilton, Clemence, Seaman. Who comes after that? Calamity James and Rookie Robinson. Neither International Class Keepers, but then who's fault is that? They are probably the only two English Keepers in the Premiership! Its because of the influx of tall foreign keepers. You can't blame the clubs, they are allowed to do it, but it does not help English football does it?

My point, well there is no point is there, just the way it is and I cannot see it changing, just feel sorry for any kid who is a goalkeeper trying to break into club football, let alone International (Even though you dont need to be very good to be England's keeper. I support Reading and even our keeper in American!

Oh well, just my 10p's worth, Care to continue this Lamps?

Actually, England could have picked Cudicini last year, before Italy got wind of it and put him in their squad, so I believe. But what you say is true. England & Man u,sorry Manchester United have both the same problem. No world class goalie. I for one did not think Barthez lived up to his reputation. He was a clown. It would not surprise me though to see Cudicini going to Manchester. What a shame he could not play in the League Cup final. We had to put Cech in goal instead. As for James, the two best games he's had this season have both been against Chelsea.

Posted

Wow, is that true Lamps? Cuddicini got an English Great Grandmother or something, why did we miss out there? You are right about James, yeah 4 points off Chelsea, but he cant do it for England, if he rises to the occassion there is no better place to do it than on the International Stage, (not against Chelsea- 180 minutes without conceeding a goal against Chelsea) and a save of the century to match. but he does not do it, did you see his "Slip" against the Valliants this weekend? If only he could have gaffed against Chelsea twice you would be looking at taking the Championship within 2 weeks or sooner. What is your prediction for the Byern game? Mine is 2-0

Cheers

2-0 would be nice. 1-0 ok. That would give them a mountain if we score in Muenchen. I used to hate Kahn when he played for Duisberg, and I still hate him now. I am,or was a Werder fan as well as Chelsea. In fact when I lived in Muenchen I used to support 1860 rather than Bayern

Anyone outside of the current top three can qualify for Europe, it's much a muchness beyond 3rd spot. I keep wondering if THFC will finally get their act together. They've certainly got the players to kick some arse.

I do hope so...does that mean my CAFC will qualify for Europe?

They were certainly on the way, till a recent drop in form sent them spiralling. It's still a lottery though, outside the top three.

If they drop away, AGAIN, I can see Alan Curbs going to a bigger club which will be rather sad. But there again, fresh blood an all that.

AC has performed MIRICLES at Charlton, little money, not massive crowds and not the glamour of most of the other Premiership London Clubs. They had no right to anything on Saturday, but they nicked a point and although I felt sorry for Stuart Pearce not winning his first game in charge, well it just showed Charlton's tanacity. I am amazed looking at their squad that they are so high, same goes for Bolton, two very shrewd Mangers with a talent for spotting talent!

Just my 10p's worth.

Will Alan Pardew (Judas) survive at West Ham if they don't go up this year??

Posted (edited)

TP, My fingers are crossed for the Hammers, they should be in the top flight. Being born in Silvertown but bought up in Plumstead I find myself divided between the two!

Harry, don't be greedy, you already have one your favourite teams in the Premiership, give someone like sus (Reading) a chance however I would put a lot of money on us coming straight back down- but I think I would probably have to put 500 quid down to get a fiver back

It seems you have to be a yo -yo club for a while before you can establish yourself in the top flight (however how many consecutive years have CA been up there now, was it since the Mendonca Play Off Final?, )take Bolton as a classic example. We have a very Tight arsed Chairman, and what I consider to be a very average Manager

True to form, Charlton are screwing up again, a handful of games to secure that 7th spot and what do they do, bomb out, p1ssed off! I really have a feeling Curbs will move on if they don't finish 7th.
