Interesting Windows 7 Issue

Featured Replies

OK, today my laptop running genuine Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) gave me a 'disk nearly full' indication, odd as my 300G drive only had 100G or so used.

Checking with explorer showed that there was indeed only 400Meg free :)

Did a virus and spyware scan, zip.

Re-boot, lo and behold, free space correct :D

Anyone else seen anything similar?

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

not exactly similar, but we are having a similar problem on some of our unix machines, which was traced to a database not releasing disk space. You are not running any kind of OOD database are you, ie Objectivity database,

I would suspect that you are seeing a similar problem but without knowing what programs you regularly run I couldnt take it any further. I will say I havnt seen this yet on any of our Win 7 machines, but we are running the 64 bit version.
