Oat Meal Biscuits

Featured Replies

I have bought a number of packets of McGarrets Quick Cooking Oats from Foodland who have a BOGOF (buy one get one free) offer at 38.25 baht per (two) packet(s)

I have tried making some oatmeal biscuits/cakes (with sultanas) in my microwave with a fair amount of success, but somehow feel that my feeble amateur results could be improved on.

Any suggestions out there for microwave (or pan) biscuits??

I tried a couple of these recipes. OK, but I finally broke down and bought a countertop oven. Not a toaster oven, a full size one. Now I can bake up cookies, banana breads, cinnamon rolls and all turn out great. Good Luck.

How much for a decent countertop oven? It seems to me that nothing else would bake properly.

Power Buy, Tukom:

We paid 3,990 baht for a large, stainless, countertop convection oven which bakes, broils, toasts, etc. One year old now, this excellent machine is going strong. Couldn't live (well) without it! You can find a smaller, cheaper models almost everywhere (Tesco, Big C, Carrefour), but this is definitely the size (and quality) for us! Can even do two chickens, or multiple creations, simultaneously... great.

We had one on loan a few years ago - a cheap one - and it performed beautifully. That said, anything that encourages home baking, I'm against. On principle.
