When To Do 90-day-address Report To Immigration Office

Featured Replies

I'm a bit in a dilemma, anyone can advise me when I have to do my 90-day-address report to the Immigration department?

I came to Thailand on the 10th of July; stamped in until the 7th of September. Extended my Tourist Visa later for 30 days till the 7th of October. Later had TV changed to Non "B" Visa, valid till 9th of December 2009. So, when do I need to do my 90-day reporting?? :)

I think if you haven't left Thailand since July 7 your 90 day reporting date WAS 5 October. The 90 days resets anytime you leave the country, to my understanding visa/extension changes work independently of 90 day reporting requirements.

If you now have a 12 month extension from Immigration the 90 days starts from the day you applied.

If you have a Non Imm B Visa obtained from a Thai Consulate the 90 days start from when you last entered the country.

How about a Non Imm B Visa (3 months) "obtained" from the Immigration office?

Thanks LB, sorry it appears I was wrong.

I am guessing he has a 12 month extension of stay. Not a B Visa.

The first application counts as a 90 days report. However we have to wait and see what he really has.

The original TV was changed to a Non "B", which is valid for 3 months; it's an actual visa, no extension of that visa as yet.

OK . You appear to have a change of Visa as part of an application for a twelve month extension. This would be the next step.

As Mario2008 advised you a while back, maybe a good idea to report 90 days after you entered the country. Looking at your dates that would now make you late.

At the worst it would mean a 2,000 Baht fine.

Anyone?

EDIT.

Actually the Immigration website says this.

The first application for extension of stay by the foreigner is equivalent to the notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days.

So that would mean that your 30 day extension application counts as a 90 day report.

I suspect they will consider the application for visa change the first report (as it is the first part of an extension of stay request). I would do 90 days later and hope for the best.

Believe that "first application" only refers to non immigrant visa entry. Do not believe the 30 day visa extension would be a report as you have not been here 90 days - even at the end of it.

Cheers guys for all the good advice. So, according to that webpage I am not overdue, but will just need to report in early December!? :)

Well, the difference between the extension date and conversion date is just about two weeks. Guess, I will just go a couple days earlier then. :)

Thanks a lot. In a related question, is the new Immigration office open on Saturdays, and can one do the report on this weekday?

It is only open on weekdays. Am not sure what you mean by "this weekday". Do you mean now? As it is not due now you will either be late 2,000 baht please or early can not report.

But if it is working on your mind go with the money to pay ((edit information - it is TM.47 form you need)) and explain the situation and that you do not want to make any mistakes/what should I do.

But too late today.

No, I meant Saturday; sorry for the confusion. :)

Have edited previous post to remove the extension form/information I provided in error - you will only need a TM.47 for 90 day report.

Yesterday, I did my first renewal of a retirement extension. Now I see they stapled my last address report receipt in my passport which

directs me to report address again on Nov. 30. So a renewal does not count as a report and I must go back again Nov. 30. Is that

correct?

Incidentally, it took only 45 minutes to do my retirement ext. renewal and a re-entry permit. In at 10:30 done at 11:15.

The first application for an Extension counts as a 90 day report. Only the first. Later applications do not.
