3g 850 900 Or 2100 Mhz?

Featured Replies

My wife and I will return back to Thailand and Vietnam next month for 2 months holiday.

What is the 3g bandwidth from what I can work out I don't think they use 2100 yet.

I will be after a 3g sim can you get a static IP with 3G as it will be used for VoIP.

We have a N95 & E51 850/2100Mhz not sure if they will work or should I get a 900Mhz phone.

Thanks.

Only True supports 3G in most areas of Bangkok using 850MHz

Ais uses 900MHz and has 3G only on siam Paragon and Central World.

No 3G at 2100 MHz yet cause government agency is too slow on getting it licensed.

It seems that everyone wants to grab a piece of the pie :D

:):D

Just to add that AIS also has 3G in Chiangmai, on the 900 Mhz band...

3G coverage is virtually non existing in Thailand.

True in Bangkok basically only covers the area close to the skytrain route.

Pretty much most of Thailand is still stuck on GPRS/EDGE...

The only 3G network with some decent coverage is CDMA EV-DO by CAT, but different equipment altogether for this as it is different from GSM/HSDPA technology.
