14 years old and violently raped. Quite likely not the only girl he did this too (and yes i know the parents are to blame of course..but the man committed the act.). One adults moment of selfish lust takes away so much from someones life. Of course, having parents who would do that to their daughter would leave her shattered also. I truly hope she gets the resources she needs.

I dont think soliciting children for sex is "just one mistake". My husband makes mistakes & isn't perfect but then neither am I but he doesn't make "mistakes" like looking for children to <deleted>. But should I ever get even the slightest sign of him being a pedo I too would be looking for definitive proof & if found he would be out on his ass with the police waiting for him.

A case in Uk recently, mother who worked in a nursery was part of a pedo ring & she had been taking photos & abusing babies. There are many cases of the need for 'Justice' over and above the rule of law, if the wife has done something wrong, prosecute her, if she has unearthed evidence legally, prosecute him and let the judicial process take effect.

Perhaps not relevant to this discussion, but in general, "proper judicial process" often results in a victory for whoever has the money for the best lawyers, the best PR team, or whoever has the best political connections....in ANY country.

Some people need to realise how their words come across and are percieved. A little bit of empathy is required.

I can see your point here and I agree that the "ergos" should be logical, not emotional.

However.....
