Hardware Store - Recommendation?

Featured Replies

Cheers!

Can anyone recommend a good hardware store? I'm looking for an assortment of screws, nuts, bolts, nails, washers, nails - that sort of stuff. I went to Home Pro, and was disapponited at their pathetic inventory. I live in the CBD of BKK.

Thanks!

was going to recommend homepro but i guess that's out of the question. try the homepro stores on the outskirts of town. they have more space so i think they might carry a larger inventory. on the outskirts you'll also find local hardware stores but you might have a bit of problem communicating with the staff. try homework. i think they're located at central department stores. i know there's one at central bangna, close to where i live. hope that helps!

The Homepro store at Rachada (MRTA stop Cultural center then a 10 minute walk) is a large store with lots of different inventory. It is a lot bigger than the Homepro near Chitlom Station.

Homepro is one of the few places that I have found that let you return stuff that doesnt work (in my case an electric transformer). Good luck.

As said Home Pro at Carrefour on Ratchada is large - as is the newer one at Carrefour on Latphao Road. You will find more imported and better quality items than in most normal hardware stores. But for normal quality bulk nails/screws and such the larger two or three shophouse hardware store probably has the best selection but are not set up for look and pick customers. If you are willing to get a little dirty they will probably let you visit back room storage area to help yourself if you want. Most major side roads will have such a store but not familiar with CBD but suspect a taxi ride to Chinatown might be in order. When all else fails you can usually find what you need in that area.
