Hello everyone..

I have been a member of TV for some time now, but I have never needed to post before, so here comes my first one.. I would like to get in contact with a car styling shop in Phuket, preferrably Phuket Town, but anywhere is ok.. It would be great if they speak english but it's not a necesity..

I hope someone can help me out.. :)

What sort of 'styling' products are you after?

Mani Centre Max next to Super Cheap is pretty good for all those shiney things.

What sort of car do you have? If you are interesting in tuning products, I'll be back, as that interests me more than shiney stuff.

I have an old Peugeot 405 GR which was given to me by a friend.

Right now it looks pretty awful.

I have big plans for it, both inside and out.

The engine is what is causing me the biggest headache.

I want something powerful, but not overdo it.

Previously I have only been working on Volvo engines (being Swedish), but I suppose Toyota or Honda is a much better option here.

My friend wants to whack a Toyota 3S-GTE Twin Turbo in it, but I think it's a bit much for this old car.

Any ideas you migh have are more then welcome. :)

There's a few Mi16 engined 405's around here. If you can get that engine it's a good one. Can't remember the specs of the top o my head, but people put them in the 205 which being around 800kgs makes it shift. I think they can get oil starvation problems as the engine is canted over alot. But mildly tuned shouldn't see many problems.

A Honda or Toyota would be a good idea as the spares/products are easily found here.

I'll have a think and get back to you. Sounds interesting :)

There's a breakers yard (usually BMW's) at the back of Rajabhat University next to the market on the road which links to Yaowarad Rd. If not there's a couple of shops which sell engines on Thepkrassatree road in between the Town and the Bypass section of the road.

A Volvo 240 which some serious boost would be quite cool, or a 940? There's a few drifting ones on YouTube :D for inspiration.

Mi 16 is 160 hp stock. needs a manual transmission. Your peg will fly :D As I recall its just 1200 kg. Can only run 95 petrol, thats Shell V-power in Phuket.

The problem I can see with your plan is that its a peugot.. Not that this is a bad car, but only that parts are going to be a real headache and expensive. I face the same issue with my VW but have a Thai guy whose up in BKK a lot that works on it and gets anything I need.

I would say tuning here then stick to the kind of cars that are commonly done.. The hondas they hot up etc. Overall the cost savings on having access to parts will win in the end.

Thank you all..

The thing is that a friend of mine gave me this car..

I'm in no way emotionally attached to it, but I won't get much if I sell it..

That's why the plan to do something fun with it came to life..

It would be ideal if I could find a Mi16 engine, I'll just have to look around..

Otherwise it will have to be some other kind of engine..
