Beautiful, and what a fit looking bird! :)

I'll send it to me Dad.

I think she lip syncs. :)

Both sets ....... well, she did in Hot Gossip.

I never saw the harm in lip syncing, must be bloody hard to be at your top every day. As long as it's her voice, what does it matter.

When I recall the old Aussie/US/UK TV shows like Bandstand I doubt if a real note was uttered in a performance.

I disagree scud. If I go out to see someone perform, I don't wanna hear a recording of them, thats fraudulant, if i wanna listen to the recording Id stay at home, save my money and play the DVD.

I can see Sceadugenga's point.....but I agree with you that a live performance is supposed to be just that, live.

This particular performance is not lip-syncing, I'm certain. I think it's a lag between audio and video. Just look at the strain in the neck tendons on some of the notes, plus they were in perfect time together.

I first came across Sarah Brightman in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Requiem. Loved her then....but Charlotte Church took over in my fancy.......Now of course, neither Sarah nor Charlotte can compare to Hayley Westenra.

From Sarah's body language in this vid....do you reckon Andrea got lucky after the performance?

Yeah, I respect that view and most top performers these days oblige.

Personally concerts to me are about atmosphere. It's hard to follow everything that goes on on the stage anyway.

One of my prized DVDs is "The Beatles-Live at Budokan".

Musically it's a total disaster, the lads never hit one right note but I read an interview with McCartney about it and he said the crowd noise was that loud they couldn't hear their own instruments, but historically it's still priceless.

That's an example of atmosphere over musical perfection.

Anyway, you thinking she syncs and her actually doing it may not be the same thing...

Especially with classical music.

My daughter did voice lessons for her singing. The way she will enunciate whilst singing is quite different from when speaking. It's not hard to think a singer is syncing when their mouth is not doing what you expect.

With rock or pop music, the enunciation is not pronounced (is there a pun there?), so it's easier to lip-sync without detection.

It's a nice song well performed.

Yes and i was only trying to stir you lot up by suggesting that she was lip syncing.....Im fairly certain she has a slightly better range of vocals than that of Britney Spears :)

Do you people know of any other song on YT in similar style?

:)

Please post some link.

Take care all!

It's appropriate to this thread to present 18 year old Hayley Westenra With Andrea Boccelli

</a> .

Perhaps not as good as the Sarah B duet above....but Hayley was just a child here.

Since then she has just grown better and better.

try this Pie Jesu, (which, coincidentally, Sarah B did in Andrew Lloyd Webbers Requiem I mentioned above.) She was 15 here.

Hayley Westenra....good Kiwi girl, still early 20's now....she will continue to grow.

Hayley sings Amazing Grace

Compare to Charlotte Church singing the same:

Bugger...I've ruined the links, sorry. Go to YT. Search for Hayley Westenra.

I'll try and do this properly.

Hmmm. Bugger. I don't know how to embed.

Sorry...I can't embed the two clips. Sarah B vs Hayley W both performing Pie Jesu.

That girl Hayley Westenra is just incredible especially when listening at that Pie Jesu piece.
