Hi Guys,

I just bought a second hand 2007 Honda Air Blade Automatic 9000km on the meter and as I know very little about bikes I have some concerns that someone might be able to help me with.

Just got back from a drive from chiang mai -> pai and back about 300km round trip

First thing is that there is a high pitched whirring noise after about 40km/h, might be a loose bearing or something.

The next thing is that when I start it now (as opposed to when I first bought it) it seems to vibrate a lot more and doesnt sound or feel as healthy (could just be first time bike buying paranoia :-)

The next thing I noticed is that the fuel economy is no where near my mates 2009 semi-auto Honda Wave 110. When we stopped for fuel it cost me 130 baht and only 80 baht for him.

Top speed I got is around 104 down a hill 90-100 on a straight.

Any help is much appreciated Thanks

Whirring can be auto box CVT.. Despite how maintenance free some posters say the autos are I (my missus) has put many of these in over and over on the nuovos..

As for running rough.. First get a full service, have them change oils, lube and filters.. Make sure air system is clean.. Then see if its still rough.

Fuel and speed are in line with the machine.

It depends.. Despite what posters say about how cheap belts are and so much easier than chains, multiple times whining yammy gearboxes have cost 4 - 5k to repair for us.

Theres lots of possibles.. Sometimes the adjustment (counter weights I believe) that fix the RPM can be adjusted for a rev range, holding it higher revs when its struggling with hills etc.. Without knowing more it could anything from a few 100 baht service through to a few 1000 to properly silence it.
