C.rai Cop Forced To Tear Down His Rural House

Featured Replies

I was driving to my property along a rutty little dirt road (soi 11, going west), when I saw a group of about 35 local adults all in a group. I had to stop because the road was temporarily blocked. One of the locals told me that two small houses have to torn down because they were built within the watershed of the local village, Ban Nam Lat. BNL is just over the MFL bridge, NW of downtown.

One house was built by a cop, so it added some drama to the event. I was told the cop knew of the watershed issue before he built the house, about 2 years ago. The watershed feeds BNL's water supply, so it's understandable that the locals don't want houses on it.

Interesting, so what happend with the 35 adults in a group, did they thore the houses down?

I drove by there today. The two houses are still standing.

I feel sorry for the people there. Even if they made a dumb decision (if they had known earlier of the ban on building there), it's still sad to have to tear down a newly built house.
