Local Government Officials Raid Known Gambling Den Following No Action By Local Police.

Pattaya, December 17 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : A gambling arrest with a difference now from Plu Ta Luang which is located just outside of Pattaya. A complaint was received by the District Chief that local Police were not interested in shutting down a gambling den which operated in an area of wasteland. The den was operated in a professional manner and spotters were known to be armed with two-way radios to alert the gamblers of anyone suspicious in the area. On Thursday Morning we joined a team of civil volunteers and the Deputy Chief of Sattahip, Khun Chaichan as they raided the location. They were able to detain three spotters but when they arrived at the gambling den, all of the gamblers had disappeared. Evidence of gambling was seized and the ring leader was identified as Khun Nittayar aged 57 who is now being located. Local Police were informed of the raid and are now expected to follow-up the case on behalf of the Deputy District Chief.
