Actually, I find that unnecessarily haughty British pedants insist that the only correct way is the English-English-Shittish way. There is more than one way to spell properly. Webster's spellings usually are better, but yours is OK, as we say in Oklahoma, which is OK.

well it is not just the american military that is around the world. go to any internatioanl corparate meeting in swirtzerland, hong kong, japan, or even china and i think you will find American English being spoken.

i liked the little ol' Lady sitting years ago next to me on a British Airways flight who gave a lecture to the flight attendant (and later to me) with the gist "we Americans do not speak English, we speak American!"

:)

They are two seperate countries and the title of the thread says nothing about America. Is that too difficult to understand? :D

separate? it's a well known fact that Eretz Yisrael is the 51st state of the U.S. of A. :)

Actually, most people would say that Puerto Rico gets that distinction. Canada would probably be next in line.

If she said American English she might have a point.

Just ask

Rahm Israel Emanuel

or

Ben Shalom Bernanke :D

They were both born in America and are Jewish. They are not Israeli.

They were both born in America and are Jewish. They are not Israeli.

Tuu Tong :)

They would not be much use to Eretz Yisrael if not born & holding power in Amerika would they?

There are plenty of American Jews that have no loyalty of any kind to Israel.

Most Americans I know would roll their eyes. Most Brits I know would agree with her.

There are plenty of American Jews that have no loyalty of any kind to Israel.

Yes but most are not White House Chief of Staff nor do they have a father who was a member of the Irgun

Also Rahm served in the Israeli Army & he was a Israeli citizen. I am not sure if he still holds dual citizenship.

Not that there is anything wrong with that :)

He is also well known for placing his loyalty towards America and President Obama way above any he might feel toward Israel. Obama has come down on Israel much harder than any President in recent years.

He is also well known for placing his loyalty towards America

:):D From the man who said this?

"Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things you couldn't do before."

After he got what he wanted we now know what he meant dont we?

Yep that was some loyal merican action there. :D

Not to suggest he acted alone in that

What does this have to do with not being loyal to that U.S.? :)

Somehow screwing the middle class as well as all the tax payers present & future......

I dunno some how it strikes me as un-loyal....un-patriotic...but that's just me

And that is just in context to the quote & what he was talking about I posted.

As for foreign policy well.... Lets just say I agree with Naam's post 153 :D

Careful, some of the non-native speakers here might think you are saying that YOU are " un-loyal....un-patriotic". Of course, I understand that your statement above is directed at the US Congress. :D

From Wiki (search; AIPAC):

"The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC; pronounced /eɪ.pæk/[/font], ay-pak) is a lobbying group that advocates for pro-Israel policies to the Congress and Executive Branch of the United States. The current President of the AIPAC is David Victor, from Detroit, Michigan.[1] As an independent, not-for-profit entity, AIPAC is funded entirely through contributions from its members.Describing itself as "America's Pro-Israel Lobby,"[2] AIPAC is a mass-membership organization whose members include Democrats, Republicans, and independents. The New York Times calls it "the most important organization affecting America's relationship with Israel."[3] It has been described as one of the most powerful lobbying groups in Washington, DC, and its critics have stated it acts as an agent of the Israeli government with a "stranglehold" on the US Congress.[4]

A Pentagon analyst pled guilty to charges of passing US government secrets to two AIPAC staffers in what is known as the AIPAC espionage scandal. Both staffers were later fired.[5]

From above...."It has been described as one of the most powerful lobbying groups in Washington, DC, and its critics have stated it acts as an agent of the Israeli government with a "stranglehold" on the US Congress.[4]...."

I think it is obvious that Israel manipulates America by insider sympathisers.

It seems that a lot of internet nutjobs do. They also think that the U.S. Government planned 9/11. :)

I didn't know a lot of internet nutjobs knew Herr Naam?

As for 9/11 I can't say I would know who planned 9/11

But being an active building contractor for well over 25 years ( currently still at it here ) & having read the report put out by the architects & engineers who built the twin towers I do agree there are many unanswered questions regarding the collapse.

Can you name some of the more questionable?

Sure........ But these are just things I wonder when looking at it.......

Aside from even the two towers one would have to question how Building 7 not even struck by a plane collapsed in the same manner as the two towers.

The story being it was close enough for the heat to do so???

Yet it was a modern steel building designed to withstand fires ( which would have to make one wonder what then produced such heat) That a neighbouring building untouched by planes is melted? to collapse?

Also specifically designed such that no one column’s failure would bring down the whole building. Are we to assume this building that was not even hit just melted all of its structural columns ? All at once? To the ground base footings?

Not unlike the twin towers.

Which also collapsed at what many have claimed the speed of free fall when viewing timed film footage.

Many architects & engineers are confounded by the *facts* surrounding the collapse.

Yes there were two jets with 60k lbs. of fuel but no Steel framed high rise has ever collapsed by any fire in such a manner.

I watched actual footage of the original building of those towers & the 80.. I believe.. steel columns. Is there a fuel know to man that could melt them all in that amount of time under any circumstance? Again from the height of the impact to the ground...Then Cause the building to collapse at free fall speeds?

For me there are many other questions from the information or lack there of but, these two I mentioned would be the biggest.

1) Building 7 untouched but collapses due to proximity?

2) Twin Towers.....So many steel columns that rise from base footings through to the top of the building. Heated to exhaustion all the way to the base? All of them? In that amount of time? To allow a building that size to fall at that speed? All the way to ground zero?

It ignores laws of physics of the resistance the lower floors would provide in the speed of the fall.

The only time I have ever seen anything resemble it is when they bring a building down in places like the Las Vegas Strip where proximity to others require it to fall perfectly into its own foot print.

But all that aside like I said.....I just agree that there are more questions than sufficient answers to the whole deal.

I'm not an engineer but this is what I thought had happened;

1) I thought Bldg 7 fell because it was too close to the towers and the force of both towers crashing to the ground weakened Bldg 7's foundation enough to cause it to become unstable. This is the first time in history that something so large has collapsed so no one really knew what would happen to nearby buildings .It's much different than anything they had in Vegas.

2) The floors collapsed quickly because of a domino-like effect. All it takes is one floor to collapse on top of another for the weight of everything above it to be slammed into the floor below. Of course is collapsed and did so very fast. If the first floor to go was the 80th, that means the 79th had the weight of 30 floors coming down on it. Even bin Laden said in one video I saw that he didn't expect that to happen. If he were a better engineer maybe we could have avoided all this current shit. :)

3) As for, "Yes there were two jets with 60k lbs. of fuel but no Steel framed high rise has ever collapsed by any fire in such a manner." this was the first time a large jet loaded with jet fuel has ever crashed into a skyscraper. The WWII bomber and the Empire State Bldg isn't the same.

I've never discussed this subject before so apologies for getting off topic.

How about this to head back toward the topic, I read where one citizen of Israel died in the towers. Does anyone know if that person was Jewish, Muslim, or other?

Oklahoma? I spent a few days there. Really different. I enjoyed the hospitality - good down-to-earth people.

Popular Mechanics is a pretty trusted source I would think

Most people don't realize that it is Jewish Corporation. There were NO victims of 9/11 who worked for Popular Mechanics! :)

"The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) describes itself as America's largest Muslim civil liberties group. Founded in 1994 by officers of the Islamic Association of Palestine, it is headquartered on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, with regional offices nationwide and in Canada.[1]

Through media relations, lobbying, and education, CAIR presents what it views as an Islamic perspective on issues of importance to the American public, and seeks to empower the American Muslim community and encourage its social and political activism.

Critics of CAIR note that it was named an unindicted coconspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, accuse it of being a front group for Hamas, being a member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee, and associating with antisemitism, and have raised concerns about the group's foreign Arab funding."

It would seem both sides have their political positions known in Washington politics.

1) I thought Bldg 7 fell because it was too close to the towers and the force of both towers crashing to the ground weakened Bldg 7's foundation enough to cause it to become unstable. This is the first time in history that something so large has collapsed

2) The floors collapsed quickly because of a domino-like effect. All it takes is one floor to collapse on top of another for the weight of everything above it to be slammed into the floor below.

How about this to head back toward the topic

No problem I was going to suggest that it may be a ways off topic.....But since you asked I answered.

But the things you cite above is the common route.

Number 1 is just impossible to conclude in this instance.

Buildings do not collapse taking again all its steel columns to ground zero due to proximity of another collapsing building. If so why then do the buildings next to WTC 7 still stand?

Look even at what a very sizeable bomb blast does to a building...Like in Oklahoma for instance...See all the steel & the building is wide open...Yet it stands. It is not easy to turn a whole building to dust.

ok-bombing.jpg

Number 2

Even with what you call domino effect or engineers call pancaking ...When the floors fall through...yes there is weight growing as the pancaking occurs but there is still resistance at each floor & however small amount of time it still takes that time.

The towers were not unlike this type of design. So even with pancaking ( which should not occur at the speed of free-fall )

The Steel columns that run through the building from base up would not all...also be gone.
