December 22, 200916 yr Hi! I would like to know, is it possible to register a car to be on my name, if I have tourist visa? Do I need a non immigrant visa for that? Thank you for answer.... Tim (sorry for bad english....)
December 23, 200916 yr I had my car registered in my name, as I stay in Thailand on Non-immigrant B visa extensions and do the 90-day reports, where I go to immigration to confirm my address. I obviously wasn't and am not registered on the blue house-book for my wife's house (she's Thai) so the salesman took a copy of my passport and most recent 90-day slip. Just wondering, guys, I paid the showroom 3,500 to register my car, on the understanding that I'd have to do it myself otherwise. - is that about right? have others had the showroom pay the fee or as part of the deal? just curious .... cheers
December 24, 200916 yr The law says you need a non im.. The reality on the ground is usually anything is OK. You will need a 'proof of residence' some provinces thats harder to get without a non imm.. In that case you can get it from your embassy.
