Dutch consular outreach visit to Phuket

PHUKET: The Dutch Embassy will hold a consular outreach trip to Phuket on Wednesday, January 13.

Peter Trimp, head of the Dutch Embassy’s Consular Affairs section, will be at the Royal Phuket City Hotel on Phang Nga Road in Phuket Town from 10am to 12:30pm that day to provide a number of consular services to Dutch residents of Phuket and nearby provinces.

New passport applications will not be accepted, as these require fingerprinting that can not be conducted during outreach visits.

For other applications, bring the original documents and make photocopies as well.

Mr Trimp told the Gazette that there are 60 Dutch residents in Phuket registered with the Embassy, but that the actual number of Dutch living in Phuket could be several hundred.

He encourages Dutch nationals who have not registered with the embassy to do so that they could be advised of future outreach visits, receive the embassy’s newsletter and be easily contacted in case of emergency.

Registration would also help the embassy know more about the size of the Dutch community, he said.

There are currently 900 Dutch residents registered with the Embassy nationwide, he said.
