Considering that I pay less than $200 a month for my room in Chiang Mai, and it's cheaper than staying home in my big Canadian house, I think I have a pretty good view.

Sun rise...

There is always something happening in the pond below my room.

But the view from my living room and back porch of my Vancouver Island home is no less beautiful... just different.

Whereabouts in CM is your room Ian? If you don't mind me asking.

Off Wiang Phing road in that so called dangerous part of Chiang Mai with all the kareoke bars. I can hear their off key singing every night. I also get a nice moonlight view across the pond during a full moon. It was great at New Years with the moonlight reflecting off the pond and all the fireworks from the city exploding in the sky above.

two views from the family upstairs kitchen...

unfortunately no view from tutsi's downstairs kitchen as it is not attractive...just monitor lizards rummaging thru the rubbish tossed from the kitchen above and the remains of dead tom cats...

Nice view, Tutsi! I thought the monitor lizards would take care of the dead Tom cats... and any other carrion for that matter. Those ancient critters are fascinating beasts.
