Like the looks of the new Focus just unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, how soon after the rest of the world do new models usually become available in Thailand?

Further details will be revealed when the car debuts in Europe at the Geneva show in March, as the Focus is not expected to reach showrooms until early 2011 in the UK.

Yeah saw that but not been here long enough to know how soon after the UK cars arrive here. Anyone know what's typical?

6 to 18 months after uk (rightsidesteering). have to make all the body tools, thai part supply line, and not least sell all the present units/parts in stock

Volvo S40/V40 2,0 (same platform/engine) never reached production here due to the removal of importduties from Asean. Made in Malaysia. Ford/Mazda production in LOS is larger though, and since Mazda 2 is made here and Fiesta will be soon, its likely Focus will be too. Wish they would make the staionwagon with 2,0TDCi/6 speed doubleclutch auto.

Not surprised. Ford and Mazda really havent succeeded very well building a brand name in LOS.

Hope they will do better with thai made Mazda 2 and Fiesta

According to today's Bangkok Post available late 2011/early2012 so probably means late 2012 /early2013?.
