I Like Brit's And Aussies Because.

I thought The South was traditionally Democrat. Something to do with Lincoln being a Republican rather than politics.

Back when they were lynching black men it was.

Umm.. how did a topic about why we like Brit's and Aussie become a discussion about Democrats and Republicans ?

Totster :D

The same way the Afghanistan thread is about the word "niggardly" and most of the other threads are about something other than the thread topic. I like Brits and Aussies. I just wish they could stay on topic. :)

I like Aussies and Brits. I have quite a few good friends from Australia but don't know that many Brits. I've worked with quite a few over the years but we seem to drift apart, unlike the Aussies who have remained in touch.

Good blokes, all.

I knew very few Americans before moving to Asia but have certainly met some great guys here. Knew a few in Vientiane then met more in Thailand, most through ThaiVisa.

I've met Ulysses G, VillageFarang, McGriffith and Joel Barlow personally through the board and have never had cause to regret the contact.

i just got a copy of a Joel Barlow novel called "The Doll-Shop on Go-Go Row" with a dedication to someone that I'm guessing is sceadugenga. I have a feeling he helped with some of the writing? :)

Now that sounds interesting, amongst so much crap that doesn't.

I wrote much of the original draft, Joel rewrote a lot of it, I wasn't keen on the result, we agreed to disagree and went our separate ways.

Much of what I wrote is in installments on a short story site, ThailandStories.com, virtually unedited. It's very different to Joel's product.

I admire Joel's Chiang Rai local history and guide books but I suspect he doesn't really take fiction seriously.
