Golf Getaway

Featured Replies

With the tour school at Springfield where we are members decided to take a little trip to Kanchanaburi and do a little golfing. Played Dragon Hills on the way up...course in ok shape had an uneventful round, played as a 3 ball in 4 hours on Tuesday.Played Blue Sapphire Wednesday, first time there and loved it played AB,was in pretty good shape a few greens a bit patchy but caddies and layout more than made up for the minor problems...loved the course.Found a great little out of the way resort on the river in Kanchanaburi. The only mistake we made was playing Evergreen.....called on Thursday afternoon to find out how busy they were on Friday.....response was of course "no problem".Booked a tee time for 8:30 (earliest we could get)booked a room at the course ....at 3:40 AM a group of Korean gentlemen were walking and chatting rather loudly in front of our bungalow...so much for sleeping....got to the clubhouse for the included breakfast at 7:15......very little food left in the buffet and what was there was cold...oh well we came for the golf ....checked in around 7:30......were told we must hurry to tee box 10 for our 8:30 tee time... we hurried.....3 1/2 hours later we get to second nine. #1 tee box.......5 foursomes on tee box .....3 more from tee to green.Needless to say we quit.Wanted to let management know my thoughts on their ability to run a golf course, pro shop informed me ..."no management here" ....now that was understating the obvious .Needless to say I won`t be returning to Evergreen...it`s a real shame a lot of courses in Thailand are so poorly run as there are some incredible tracks here.TIT I guess.
