1 Million Baht House Fire Injures House Owner

Featured Replies

Just after daybreak on Sunday, Police and Fire Rescue Units were called to a house inside the Permsub Village which is located off Soi Siam Country Club, to deal with a fire. Fire Rescue Units were first to arrive and were told that persons were thought to be inside the burning house. As a precaution, surrounding houses were evacuated for a time while fire fighters tackled the blaze, which took just over an hour to bring under control. Khun Dui aged 28 and his Girlfriend were able to escape by themselves. Khun Dui sustained burns to his left hand and was taken to Hospital. When the fire had been fully extinguished, the extent of the damage was seen by fire investigators who determined that a fault with an electrical appliance was to blame for the fire which is thought to have caused around 1 Million Baht’s worth of damage.

It couldn't be that the electrical appliance, believed to have caused the fire, was not grounded? Could it? Na, thai builders say grounding is not necessary so there must have been a fault in the appliance itself. Which would not have caused a fire had it been grounded or if the house had a ground security switch. Hmmm.
