On Sunday Afternoon, Police Colonel Somnook, the Chief of Banglamung Police, made his way to a small house in Soi Siam Country Club to investigate reports of a murder. At the scene, the Colonel inspected the body of Khun Mondree aged 37 who had been shot once in the side of his head. The suspected murder weapon, was located on the floor, close to the body. The suspected murderer was also at the scene and gave himself up to Police. He is Khun Gampon aged 32, the younger brother of the victim. Other family members including, the victim and suspect’s mother, Khun Wanpen was also present and was understandably in a state of shock. The suspect claimed that the victim would beat his mother on a regular basis, and suffered form regular mood swings due to a previous drug habit. On this occasion he could not stand-by and watch the victim beat his mother again and entered into a fight with his older brother which resulted in the fatal shooting. Khun Gampon was escorted to the Police Station and charged with murder.
