New Vehicle

Featured Replies

I have been looking t options to buy a new pick up truck.

I realise that pick-op trucks keep their value good in Thailand. Buying a new vehicle in the UK it is norm that you lose the value as soon as you drive out of the showroom via the government tax. Is it the same in Thailand and has anyone an idea of how much that is percentage wise.

Cheers

I thought value loss was more due to depreciation, not tax??

Cars that are affordable for Thais and especially Japanese cars keep their value very well. I also came here thinking of buying 2nd hand, but I have bought several cars by now, all new instead. There simply isn't enough in it to go for a 2nd hand Japanese car. Different for lower quality odd cars like Ford, Chevy, Seat of course.

New pick-up 600,000, 3 year old in good condition still nearly 500,000. It's normally not worth it for a newish Japanese...

In the UK S/H buyers won't purchase a proportion of the origional Government Tax, in Thailand unless you purchase a proportion of origional tax owners will not sell they just look at total cost of vehicle not how it's made up.

A new Isuzu D-Max Cab4 4wd is going to cost over 800,000 baht. A 2007 can be had for under 600,000 baht. In real money, that is a savings of over $6000 USD. Worth considering IMO.

4 wheel-drive, turbo etc and price drops more, yes.
