Cambodian Street Vendor Arrested Following Theft Of Mobile Phone

In the early hours of Friday Morning, Police were called to Soi 7 in Central Pattaya following the capture of a Cambodian Man suspected of stealing a mobile phone. The crime was committed further up Pattaya Second Road inside a branch of MacDonald’s at the front of the Pattaya Dragon Complex, opposite the Alcazar Theatre. The victim of the alleged crime was Khun Reungchai aged 53 who was eating inside the restaurant with his Girlfriend when the suspect entered. He was carrying a leather case full of lighters and approached the victim and displayed his range of lighters. The suspect, Mr. Hai aged 32 spotted Khun Reungchai’s Samsung mobile phone, on the table and grabbed it and then ran in the direction of Central Pattaya. The Police were informed and managed to catch the man inside Soi 7. He was caught in possession of the mobile phone and was subsequently arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station where he was charged with theft. Further checks on his immigration status are now taking place but Police suspect he is residing here in Thailand illegally
