Correct, but stereogoose has got to be winner.

I was mulling this over last night, amazing what goes through your mind when the only topics of discussion around the table are fishing and chicken farming for the umpteenth time again.

Stereogoose works if there are only two of them, for a multiple it really should be Polygoose.

I agree, and I thought multigoose.....mind you, bigoose and trigoose works for a pair or triplet respectively.

Come to that...you could have a quadrigoose, quintgoose, sexgoose, heptgoose, octogoose, nonogoose, decagoose, hendegoose....etc.

Very specific collective nouns, don't you think?

I think there are far too many gooses on this thread.

Indeed.

I like the sound of Octogoose, but that is more suggestive of something that would feed a family of eight at Christmas.

If there's more than one goose, you have geese. But I don't think the plural of mongoose is mongeese

Does anyone need a coracle anchor?

"That" is one word, though arguably if you created a conjunction, such as "that's", your word is performing the function of two separate words. Does that help?

That's what happens when people think like that.

I think there are far too many gooses on this thread.

OC, is that a noun or a verb?

Why have I never had a the good fortune to share a house with a woman who is capable of returning a pen to my desk after removing same?

Does such a woman exist?

The reason I have a pen handy is to jot down the rare brilliant thought I have and by the time I find my pen I'VE FORGOTTEN THE BLOODY THING.

Keep a sand-box and a thin stick............you'll never have another problem with brilliant thoughts or cat shit.

I have the same trouble. So I keep one in the kitchen, one by my bedside and one in the study. When the kitchen one decides to go for a wander, I make the usual grumbling noises and then go and use one of the other ones. Usually, the kitchen one magically reappears within hours...

Good trick to make a sand-box disappear like that............

You guys reckon ya have a problem. geeeeez.........

I leave things around, as I always have.

Now my ever loving new wifey, "TIDIES UP", and I can't find nuffin.

Bless her, but grrrrrrrrr.............. and I still love her.

Our cleaning lady is way worse, she doesn't tidy up, she just moves things for no good reason. I just walked through the kitchen and found the sandwich toaster on the opposite end of the unit it is on....... why?

Don't even try to think about it.

Madness lies there.

She probably used it to have crumpet during her break.

(The toaster - not the bench.)

I deleted the English English spell check and replaced it with the Australian English one. Runs like a scalded Goanna now.

Should all be in block capitals then, with hyphens between the syllables.

Where in the ME are you sibey ?

Dubai. First time in the ME. Don't think I'll be hurrying back.

BTW, the UAE's internet censorship makes Thailand's efforts look pathetic. Just who are the men viewing the sites in order to determine what sites should be blocked ?

Sibey - head North from Dubai, to Sharjah and Ajman. There you'll see a far more traditional Gulf Arab culture. Dubai is Sin City.

On the other hand you could venture into Saudi, I'm sure BoJ could fix a visa, then you'll see what living is really all about.

After my first time in Saudi, thirty years ago, I dais 'Never again Saudi / Never again a German company'. I have since then done four more tours in Saudi, worked for four other German companies. Never say never.

Are these the best 10 pubs in Britain ?

10 of the best British pubs

Donations for a fact-finding mission to validate this claim can be made to my Nigerian bank account.

T.V. Members wishing to participate in this "Tour of Duty" please enclose, c.v. and name their "Best British Pub.

(Or failing that any ideas on how to apply for a British Council research grant ? )

Typical review of pubs by a woman. No mention of which ales are available - just 'you can also taste a selection of wines' and other such garbage.

The CAMRA guide is your best listing of decent pubs in all areas of the UK.

Start down in Cornwall and slowly drink your way up to John O'Groats. By the time you finish there will be a new CAMRA guide out and you can work your way back down to Cornwall. And so on and so on .....

(Oh, and call in on Mossie while in Oxford. Hook Norton Brewery is not far away, and they have some fine pubs around the area)

Wonder how many times Imelda Marcos did that?

Hang on, maybe she never left her shoes scattered all over the bed room floor.... :D

Who says my shoes were scattered? They were neatIy by the door, thank you very much, side by side. Its caIIed not Iooking carefuIIy enough. Im one very neat home keeper, and take pride in that! Bah MEN! :)

So, reading from the left, you had 1L/1R;2L/2R;3L/3R; and so on.

From your post you must have put 1R and 2L on the opposite foot. Weren't you a trifle uncomfortable?

Ah no! This is a fashion thing, so comfort doesn't come into it.

I had taken a sabatical on this thread and now there's too damm many questions to answer them all. Besides, it would take me an hour to sort through my thousands of pictures to illustrate what I want to say.

I DO like the steriogoose reply, though. However, I've got a photo of Eeks neatly arranged shoes, but decided not to post it.

Carry on.

Bum gun...........

Yeah, I have installed one for my wife.

What is the term I would use if I was asking for one in a shop.??????????

Flexible bidet, woteva, no idea, bobody in shops here has a clue.

One I bought in Bangers could not take local water pressure, watched ir slowly leak and blow apart.

Just had this discussion about who is better in cooking, guys or girls?

Told the couple I was having a discussion with, to do a contest to prove my position that most guys are better in cooking food.

They select three girls and I select three guys (myself included) and we make three type of agreed upon dishes.

It will be a blind test.

An absolute. Is there such a beast?

What I want to know is.....

If bacteria break down all dead organic materials, what breaks down dead bacteria?

What I want to know is.....

If bacteria break down all dead organic materials, what breaks down dead bacteria?

Little hammers?

What I want to know is.....

If bacteria break down all dead organic materials, what breaks down dead bacteria?

Can you imagine the infinite number of bacterium that could easily avail itself to any such surroundings......be it dormant or active. The rulers, to be sure.
