fester Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 Got this email from a concerned Ameraican woman: The Immigration Bureau in Bangkok is no longer granting 30 day extensions on tourist visas--they will give a maximum of 10 days (presumably due to some hogwash surrounding 9/11)- Anyone else have the same experience??
PREM-R Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 I got a 30 day extension to a Tourist visa only a couple of weeks ago and there was no indication of a change of policy at the office in Bangkok at that time. I wonder if the American person had an ' on arrival' visa which I think can only be extended for a short time (10 days?)
fester Posted February 26, 2003 Author Posted February 26, 2003 It is now confirmed by immigration, that they are extending "TR" visas with 30 days. No change!
Roger13 Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Fester I think it would be correct to say that 10 or only 7 days extention would apply to passport holders from the Indian Sub Continent (ie India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal & Sri Lanka) Roger
dr_Pat_Pong Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 Certainly not much longer. The subcontinent isn't too popular nowdays
